
JANUARY 2019!! The Lion King style! Ahh this was loads of fun! Drawing three times a day is definitely worth it! (Though from the 18th and forward was only able to do 1 a day) I can definitely see improvement! Next to the small changes I made, of course. This improvement challenge I created for myself is definitely worth it! I’ll note a few things that I learned. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•Although I knew this beforehand, I made use of not thinking while I’m drawing. Some of you know it as right brain mode. Where you get so focused that you are hardly aware that you’re drawing. You don’t let the negativity come through while drawing. You let positive thoughts come through instead. Instead of “ew that looks like shit” let that slide and replace it with “I can fix that” or “it looks okay”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•I learned to take breaks and come back to something if left brain (negative thoughts) gets too strong. If you think about it too much and let left brain take over, you’ll be more unhappy with the end result. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•I learned how to practice something repeatedly if I don’t know how to do it. The paw and expression sheet really helped and using real life references of lions too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first month of my 2019 improvement went pretty well and I enjoyed the requests I’d take occasionally too! I hope my insight on drawing (nearly) three times a day for a month has shown you how it can be. Of course, there was hard days and I didn’t draw but I caught up whenever I could. I made it important to take weekends off to recharge and relax. You don’t want to overwork yourself! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
