wuffnpuff, this is my entry in the photo meme.
I was going to reply saying "Waah, I broke my camera" but then remembered the expensive linux phone thing I have can also take photos and figured it should probably do something to earn its keep.
This is the result. It's rescaled, but that is the only edit. Oh, how tempting it was to file this under "Mammals/Other" or "Monkey".
Take a picture of yourself right now.
Don't change your clothes. Don't fix your hair.
Post that picture with no editing.
Post these instructions with your picture.
EDIT NOTE:
No, I don't know what the white splodge on my cheek is. It wasn't there afterwards.
Also it was tempting to pose next to the Studer or something but that would kind of defeat the object of the exercise.

It all depends what you're intending to do with it. I was originally looking at these as internet terminals and computers rather than phones. Typing in URLs (the FA ones have a lot of numbers, for example) and entering large amounts of text makes the keyboard pretty important which virtually rules out the Hero, Magic and iPhone. I want to be able to touch-type on it, which the G1 can do albeit not great.
I have the black G1 for that purpose using a dedicated 3G SIM card intended for a mobile broadband dongle. I got the white one in the photo later to use for calls and stuff. For that purpose the Hero etc would have done, but I was hoping to have two the same so the parts would be interchangable years down the line...
Bear in mind I develop mobile phone applications for a living so my idea of what makes a good phone is liable to be very, very different to most peoples

Ah yes, the SIM card--that's what makes cell phones in Europe superior to those in the US, because you all have the ability to mix and match your phones and service provider.
But still, the Motorola Droid is awesome in every way. It is the first phone that, IMHO, can finally knock the stupid iPhone off its high horse.
I have a Motorola Droid on Verizon, which means that I have the best phone on the best service provider out there.
I have 3G reception in places that are basically dead-zones to all other service providers.

Oh, I forgot to add - Nokias can be okay. The lower end ones are more usable and the higher-end ones are good if you're not trying to program them (Symbian is just evil) - but the mid-range one I had had a truly dire SMS editor that would frequently erase the entire message instead of one character with no undo.
The build quality is good - on that Nokia too... it survived being smashed against the floor with all my force. Yes it broke, but when I gathered all the bits they clipped together and it worked fine.

I've had one for a while. It works okay as a phone/text device, and the battery life is fairly good.
In fact, the only problem I have with it is it gets sluggish after you get over 1200 texts in it, and the charger appears to have a fault that causes the socket to be twitchy as heck to get it to remain charging. That might be the cable, though.
I was just curious as to how you saw it for your side. And since Symbian isn't great as an OS, I'm not terribly surprised at your reaction. ;-]
