Today (February 2, 2019) marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive! Sonic 3 was another hit game for Sega's Sonic series. This game also introduced a new character, Knuckles The Echidna, a character that would become a staple in the Sonic universe.
As a Sonic fan at childhood, I loved the games. This one is no exception. I was especially a fan of Knuckles, even though he started out as a bad guy.
When I was a kid, I used to make jokes about Knuckles. One of them was that his dreadlocks was really a wig, and that Knuckles had it on all the time to hide his baldness. Here, I drew Sonic and Tails encountering Knuckles with his wig off. Knuckles, dismayed about Sonic and Tails seeing him bald, asks the two to not let anyone else know. (Sorry, Knuckles...)
Happy 25th anniversary to this 16-bit masterpiece from Sega, and a happy 25th birthday to Angel Island's special guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles!
