An encounter with silence is an encounter with truth
There are positive thoughts and negative thoughts and inbetween, there is a silent space. Mind is restless and cannot find peace in this silent space. Only when one is free of mind, one can enjoy this simplicity and blissfulness in the silent space. To be free of mind does not mean to live mindlessly, it means to live meditatively. One can only be mindless without consciousness. To be free of mind, but with consciousness, means to be mindful. Mind is the dream of truth and when mind disappears, truth awakens from that dream. All thoughts are temporary. We make the mind real by believing in it. Thoughts become our reality when we live inside our thoughts and identify with them, but they can still be taken away. The only thing that can never be taken away is the silence behind everything. That silence cannot be altered or affected by other thoughts. Silence just sees, does not judge, and always remains unnattached from every thought that appears. When one is letting go of trying to change oneself with a thought, one begins to love oneself unconditionally. And when one begins to love oneself unconditionally, the ego dies. And only when the ego has died, one is free of fear and can live in unconditional love, without being attached to life and without the fear of losing life, because when one is living in unconditional love, one knows that life has no ending. Only when one is identified with the ego, one believes that life has an ending. When one is not identified with the ego, one does not fear losing it and when one does not fear losing something, love is without conditions. So as long as one is emotionally concerned about one's life in the ego, one does not live in unconditional love. One lives in fear, in untruth. This is why one can only discover truth by letting go of identifying with life and the noise that the mind creates. One can just be with the silent space and share unconditional love with existence until the body dies, because this is what it means to devote oneself to meditation. But this the restless mind does not want, so first one has to let go of the restless mind and then one can begin the inner journey into unconditional love consciousness which happens in meditation. Meditation is the most free, relaxing and blissful way to be. When one has just a single moment of no thoughts, one will know this. When one has more moments of no thoughts, one becomes even more blissful. The more moments of no thoughts one has, the more one becomes blissful. To expand into these blissful, silent moments of no thoughts and let go of all worldly attachment is enlightenment.
