Their name basically means "Undamaged Joy" (Based on what I've read, if I'm wrong, please correct me.) and they are a Noble Outborn Xu'ul with an Egyptian theme.

Unlike my other Noble outborn (Lady Paine) Salim is effectively genderless as a result of hacking the nanomachines in their blood (all Xu'ul have them, Outborn and otherwise. It's part of their origin.) and can choose their gender at will.

What defines them as a noble is not only their flair and position as a cultural leader, but their unique ear and horn structure when compared to others of their species in which the horns normally wrap around their ears. This is due to Salim's ears being more on the top of their head rather than at the sides.
