... Ahem, well, that took longer than expected. We had some unavoidable delays (mostly Nee ^^), but now we can finally roll out the 2015 edition of the KatNee Movie Date. New this season: movie descriptions are now in italics (the 2014 logs have them as well), "Da Rulez" have been polished and updated with a new #1 rule, and we now have movie total tallies. Also no "frame" art of Katney and Nee in the cinema watching the movies. I figured it was better to see our pictures normally than to squash and stretch them to fit in the movie screen. I also went back to The Princess Bride and Tangled Movie Dates and updated their movie descriptions to be more like the others. And finally we'll have our very first guest artist this year, but let's keep who it is a secret for now. I just hope I'm giving them enough time to finish. <_< I hate rushing people, which is probably why it took Nee so long to do his cards. XD
Anyway, this week we're bringing you "Katney's Never Seen 'The Incredible Hulk'". I will admit that while I was never much of a Marvel fan I DID watch a few live action movies. I think it was because my brother brought them to watch during holiday gatherings. Among them was Ang Lee's Hulk. ... Hulk was interesting but understandably it didn't leave me wanting more. So when Nee and I started watching the MCU I wasn't looking forward to another Hulk movie. It took me a few months to even get started on this log. X3 It left me squeamish a lot of the time.
Title Card: As usual Nee does the title cards for the movies I hadn't seen. As I was editing the log I noticed how much running Banner does in the movie and joked that it should be Nee as the Hulk running with Katney as Betty piggy-backing on him and commenting about it being a Flash or Quicksilver movie. Instead he goes for the quiet scene at the Smoky Mountains. He originally had the image flipped so that Hulk Nee is on the left like in the movie, but the dialogue read better when the positions were flipped. Pay no attention to the backwards "Nee18" signature in there somewhere. ^^ ... Also the dialogue matches true to life. Two title cards in nine months!!!
As expected, Da Rulez return!
1) We watch these movies from our respective countries. We log into our internet messenger of choice, choose a movie, count down to start, and type our reactions and commentary accordingly.
2) It has to be a movie only one of us has seen before. The only exception is if it's part of a film series and one of us wishes to watch it together, but it will still be added to their movie total tally. (Example: Katney's already seen Batman Forever, but Nee wants it included in the Movie Date entries.)
3) If neither of us has seen a particular movie one of us has to watch it first. Besides syncing issues leading to possible spoilers who would draw the title card? X3
4) Movies that we've seen before but haven't watched in several years and remember very little of may be included.
5) Movies that have only been seen in bits and pieces may be included as long as certain plot points/twists haven't been revealed. There may be some minor exceptions if it's included in a film series and/or heavily parodied.
6) TV and internet shows will be included. One disk/season will be considered one movie. 5 to 6 episodes maximum per viewing and marked as a completed movie by the end of the disk/season. Internet shows without a physical copy will be calculated either by episode run times or by season.
7) While Katney does her best to add movie descriptions these logs are from some time ago and some of our reactions may have to be taken out of context.
8) The logs will be posted as they were originally written, except self-corrected typos will be removed and some strong language will be censored. The censored word will usually be replaced with "(toast)" or some other variation depending on the situation. There may be some films where this rule will be ignored.
9) In the descriptions the actor's name may only be listed in regards to the character they play if we refer to them as such or as another character they've played in our commentary.
10) Movies are watched from beginning to end, so if you intend to watch these movies beware of spoilers.
11) More rules can be added at any time.
And now without further delay, we bring you The Incredible Hulk.
February 3, 2015:
Nee: Okay... press play on my mark
Katney: Ready
Nee: mark!
Katney: ::pushed play:: Who's Mark? ^^
(The logo for Universal Studios plays as usual, followed by Marvel Studios' logo and the movie title. Images in green, such as blood streams, are shown throughout. The process of Dr. Bruce Banner undergoing the gamma radiation experiments that turn him into the Hulk are shown. In Hulk's POV we see he destroys the lab and injures his girlfriend Dr. Elizabeth "Betty" Ross, played by Liv Taylor. Her father General "Thunderbolt" Ross is also present and injured as other people inside the lab are injured or killed.)
Katney: Blasphamy! It's Universal instead of Disney! XD
Nee: XDD yeah... I think this was the last one before the buy out
Katney: Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen stuff
Nee: It's like the TV show stuff X3
Nee: Big guy!
Katney: But it's got Liv Tyler in it
Katney: Blooooooooooooooooood... huh, Hulk came into the movie early
(Later Bruce visits Betty in the hospital but is forced to leave by Ross. Over the next five years newspaper articles detail the existence of a green monster, and later we're shown the aftermath of Hulk sightings, hunts lead by Ross, and Bruce going into hiding. One newspaper refers to Hulk as a green Sasquatch. Stark Industries and Nick Fury of SHIELD Command are noticed within the paperwork flashing on screen. Soon it's revealed there have been no Hulk sightings in five months.)
Nee: Run Brucce!
Katney: Green Sasquash... heh
Nee: ^^ The complaint with the Ang Lee movie is Hulk wasn't in the movie till like half way X3
Katney: I saw Nick Fury's name!
(Days Without Incident: 158. Bruce is shown to be living in Rocinha Favela, Brazil with a dog. He turns on the TV, landing on a Portuguese dubbed episode of Sesame Street featuring Grover and reads a Portuguese/English Dictionary. He practices saying "Hungry" in Portuguese. Later Bruce walks down a set of brightly colored stairs and attends a private martial arts lesson. His teacher rolls his stomach to emphasis using his diaphragm to breathe. "The best way to control your anger is to control your body. Control your pulse." He then slaps Bruce twice, causing Bruce's pulse monitor watch to beep faster, encouraging him to breathe. Bruce's pulse reads 146 and slows.)
Nee: Braaaaaaaazzzzzzil
Katney: .... Are we gonna flash back or is this a sequel to the original Hulk movie?
Katney: Groover speaks Portreguese XD
Nee: Interesting location ^^
Nee: The original Hulk movie didn't happen in this... we start with the Hulk already on the run
Nee: colourful
Katney: ... Interesting stuff done with tummy
Nee: O.o Slapping the hulk? Brave guy
Katney: Does he KNOW he's the Hulk?
Nee: nope ^^
(Bruce goes to work in a soft drink bottling factory, a man brushes by him roughly but Bruce remains calm. He hands a sealed box over to a pretty woman, Martina, whose skin is glistening in sweat.)
Katney: Anger management seems to be working for him here at least
Katney: Sweaty gal
(Bruce is directed to an upper level by the plant manager where he fixes a sparking button box with his bare hands, the manager commenting that he needs a new factory. Bruce suddenly cuts his thumb while closing the box, a drop of blood drips down and lands among open, empty bottles. Bruce calls for operations to stop, and he finds the blood has landed on the conveyor belt. He cleans it off and uses super glue to seal the wound on his thumb. Operation resumes, but he missed some blood on the mouth of one bottle which goes on to be filled, capped, and packaged.)
Katney: ... Shouldn't you be wearing gloves Bruce?
Nee: blooooood
Katney: There's the blood X3
Katney: It got IN!
Nee: Ew glue!
Katney: Can't watch X3
Nee: missed a bit
Katney: Sure did. <_<
Katney: This can't be good
Katney: Radioactive Hulk blood
Nee: ... ... ... I'm sure it will be fine
Katney: It'll only come up about 20 minutes in XD
Nee: surely someone will see it and just pour it away
(Bruce notices a worker harassing Martina and approaches them, inviting Martina to have lunch with him. The harassing man approaches Bruce and shoves him. In Portuguese Bruce tells him, "Don't make me... hungry. You wouldn't like me when I'm... hungry." This confuses the man, who takes a swing at him, but the manager calls off the fight before it gets more aggressive. Bruce leaves with Martina.)
Nee: ^^ heheh he missed up his famous line
Katney: Aww X3
(After work Bruce meets with a man in an alley and is handed a green parcel. He returns home and sets up a satellite link antennae to his laptop computer, as well as a newspaper clipping of Betty, and connects to the internet. He starts an encrypted instant messaging with "Mr. Blue," who addresses Bruce as "Mr. Green." Bruce tells Mr. Blue that he has found "it", which is revealed to be some white flowers.)
Katney: Wassat?
Nee: random science stuff ^^
Katney: Heh, Mr. Green
(In a montage Bruce snips the blossoms into a bowl and mixes them together with various chemicals until it all becomes a new chemical, the dog watches on with a yawn. Bruce pricks his finger, puts his blood on a glass slide, and adds a drop of the new chemical. He examines it under a microscope, his blood covered in green cells. The chemicals wipe out the green cells, leaving clean blood... until it suddenly mutates completely green and cracks the glass. He reports the failure to Mr. Blue, telling him he used all of the flower. Mr. Blue wants to meet, but Bruce says it's not safe. "Living with GAMMA poisoning not safe. (...) Send me a blood sample." Bruce draws some blood from his arm and mails it to Mr. Blue in New York City.)
Nee: yawn doggy
Katney: Liquids
Katney: Ech, pricking fingers
Katney: Success!
Katney: Nope.
Nee: all gone
Katney: More blood... gyah
Nee: He charged for it before weighing it
(In Arlington, Virginia, at the Pentagon, General Ross is handed a report of a Milwaukee man, played by Stan Lee, receiving gamma sickness from drinking a guarana soda containing Bruce's blood, falling ill after taking one gulp. Ross learns where the soda was bottled and directs their people there.)
Katney: Stan Lee!
Nee: STAN!
Katney: Subject of Gamma poisoning
(At Fort Johnson, Everglades, Ross is told he will be receiving an "ace" for his special forces team: Emil Blonsky, a Russian-born British man on loan from the Royal Marines. They fly to Brazil while receiving info on Bruce, orders to tranq him and bring him back.)
Nee: very small guy to be an "ace"
Katney: If you say so
Nee: you'd think they'd send someone bigger after the hulk?
Katney: There's someone bigger? XD
Nee: well I am just saying, send someone bigger than that who can take the punch
(In Brazil Bruce resumes communications with Mr. Blue who received Bruce's blood sample. He reports the preliminary blood tests show a significant gamma reduction, but he needs more data. Bruce tells him all the data is "home.")
Katney: Hmm, Blue is being too nosey
(Later Ross's special forces team close in on Bruce's home, passing by a stray dog that barks at the men. The dog's yelp is heard by Bruce's dog and awakens Bruce. The men walk over the still dog. They break into Bruce's home, but Bruce is nowhere in sight. Blonsky shoots Bruce's dog with a tranq dart and notices a rope leading out the window, which Bruce is climbing down. He slips into Martina's apartment to avoid capture. He thanks her with a kiss on the cheek and runs in the opposite direction.)
Katney: Doggie!
Katney: Animal abuse! Not cool!
Nee: doggie!
Nee: DOGGIE NO!
Katney: ;_;
(Bruce and the commandos meet each other and chase after Bruce through various locations in town, many heavily populated or tight. Bruce runs through hung laundry, losing his baseball hat which is stepped on by the commandos. One accidentally runs off the steps and straight down a story or two onto the stone steps below.)
Nee: this should be fun ^^
Nee: a hunt around that built up maze of places
Katney: We're getting a tour of everywhere XD
Nee: NUUUU The HAT!
Katney: Oooo that had to hurt
(The chase continues on the rooftops which are easy to navigate. Bruce's pulse monitor begins to beep as he continues to run, reading 175. Bruce hides to steady his breathing, managing to lower his pulse to 153. He resumes his run, avoiding being shot by Blonsky and confronting General Ross himself. Bruce eventually runs literally into his mean coworkers. They attack him, but Bruce is able to subdue them enough to continue running, though his coworkers join in the chase.)
Nee: Neyla would love these rooftops
Katney: He's losing it!
Nee: Adding more to the chase XD
Katney: Geez how long have they been chasing him?!
Nee: now the bad guys from the factory are after him too
Katney: Yeah, just what he needs
(The coworkers follow Bruce into the closed factory. Bruce's pulse is now at 187, but he has no time to slow it as he runs again. The commandos close in, but the coworkers corner Bruce first, stealing the backpack with his computer from his back and tossing it aside. They force Bruce against a steel cage as Bruce tries to warn them, "Me... angry... very bad." The coworkers mock him as his pulse goes up to 191, and Bruce sees he is about to be shot at. They punch Bruce and push him over the side as one of the coworkers is shot with a tranq dart. Soon Bruce's pulse reaches 200... and his eyes turn green. Uh-oh. <_< The pulse monitor falls from his wrist as Bruce transforms into THE HULK. Welp, they're boned.)
Katney: You don't wanna do that guys!
Nee: O.o oh dear
Katney: Oy
(Hulk pulls one of the coworkers into the shadows, then throws him through an office with windows where he crashes into a wall on the other side. The other coworkers run as Hulk pursues them, snatching one into the shadows. The special team fire tranq darts at the Hulk, which only bounce off his skin. Hulk proceeds to fend off his attackers, who now use regular bullets. During the chaos a steel tanker full of green soda is crushed, spraying its contents into the air like rain. Blonsky gets a good look at the Hulk... before Hulk throws a forklift at him, narrowly missing him and causing an explosion. Hulk escapes the factory through a hole in the wall and disappears.)
Nee: well he's dead
Katney: Or very very broken
Katney: Thick skin
Nee: ... he will need that new factory now >_>
Katney: Hope his insurance is paid up
Katney: It's like a Gatorade commercial XD
Nee: annnnnd he is outta there!
Katney: Hulk smash ^^
(Blonsky recovers Bruce's backpack and shows it to General Ross. They open it, finding his computer and newspaper clipping with Betty's picture. Ross tells Blonsky that she isn't a factor; Bruce is alone. Blonsky then retorts that Bruce wasn't alone as the Hulk was there. Ross tells him, "That was Banner. ... It... was Banner." Ross doesn't want to explain now and tells him they're going home.)
Nee/Katney: ^^ it was banner/It... was Banner
Katney: That's IT?! You found the place where he's been hiding and you're not gonna look for him more?!
Katney: How far can he go on foot?! You've got planes and commandos!!
(My Hulk knowledge was very limited when I watched this. ^^ Bruce awakens in a rainforest, wearing only a pair of ripped, loose-fitting pants. Days Without Incident: 1. Bruce comes across a passing logging truck and begins to speak to the driver in Portuguese, but the driver instead speaks in Spanish. He tells Bruce he is in Guatemala and agrees to drive him to town. Meanwhile Ross and Blonsky return to the USA. Blonsky tells Ross that he wants to be involved in the next mission with Banner/Hulk, and requests a team that is properly prepped and ready to fight.)
Katney: .... OK, I'm guessing that's a ways from Brazil XD
Nee: Hulk can cover far distances... run faster and jump further without needing a breather
(Bruce walks into Chiapas, Mexico, still only wearing the loose, ripped pants. The classic "sad" theme from the TV show plays in the background. He sits in a marketplace where a boy gives him coins. Soon Bruce is able to buy himself new clothes and shoes, including some pants that stretch. After sleeping in the streets he walks on a path in the rainforest.)
Nee: Mexico
Katney: Indeed
Katney: There's that sad music
Nee: actually buys stretchy pants ^^
(Blonsky meets with General Ross, who tells him how the Hulk was the result of an attempt to recreate World War II's "Super Soldier" program. Banner thought he was working on radiation resistance so he tested it on himself. "As far as I'm concerned, that man's whole body is the property of the US Army." Soon into their discussion Ross offers to give Blonsky something similar...)
Katney: Captain America ref ^^
Nee: yeeeep ^^ he is property of the US army ^^
Nee: Oh no... they are gonna try again?!
Katney: That's what worries me <_< Hulk versus Hulk... wait, is he Red Hulk or something?
Nee: Red Hulk? No red hulk in this film... not even a shehulk
(In Virginia Bruce sits outside Culver University, where his old lab and data are. Days Without Incident: 17. He is unable to enter because of tight security. He heads over to the Biological Sciences building, where the directory shows Dr. Elizabeth Ross is working in Cellular Biology. He watches as Elizabeth, better known as Betty, walks out of the building, well-healed since the first Hulk transformation. He thinks she notices him but she was actually looking at psychiatrist Leonard Samson. Bruce watches as they walk away hand-in-hand.)
Katney: She's there!
Nee: Beeeeetty
Katney: I thought her name was Elizabeth
Nee: yeeeep ^^ but that was shortened to beth and some people shorten it to Betty
(That night Bruce arrives at Stanley's, a pizzeria. The owner, Stanley Lieber, is an old friend of Bruce's and allows him inside after just closing. Stanley let him stay in the spare room upstairs and gives him a job as a delivery man to get inside his old lab. Bruce meets with a security guard, played by Lou Ferrigno, telling him he has a delivery upstairs. The guard doesn't believe anyone's up there, but he lets Bruce through when he is bribed with a free pizza. ^^)
Katney: Heh, buddy of his?
Katney: Pizza delievery man ^^
Nee: Lou!
Katney: Lou who?
(And right now I feel I'm being judged. XDDDD I KNOW WHO HE IS NOW, SHADDUP! Bruce enters his old lab and uses Betty's username and password to log into a computer, gaining access. There is someone else in the lab... who enjoys his own free pizza. ^^ Bruce searches the Research Database for the "Gamma Pulse" and himself, but finds no matches. He then makes contact with Mr. Blue, telling him the data is gone. "Without it... I cannot help.")
Katney: He knows her password? Did he bribe that guuy with the pizza?
Nee: Yeah ^^ he is in college... everyone gets bribed by za ^^ as for her password, he probably knows her enough to know what to try
Katney: Hmm, this is true
(Bruce packs a bag in Stan's spare room, preparing to hit the road again. In the pizzeria Betty and Leonard arrive just before closing time. Betty, also a friend of Stan's, playfully begs him to serve them. We get a better look at Leonard, played by Ty Burrell. Bruce peaks out of the kitchen looking for Stan, and Betty sees him. She chases after him into the kitchen and out the back, but Bruce hides behind the nearby dumpster. It begins to storm as Betty asks Stan if she just saw who she thinks she saw.)
Nee: She saw him!
Katney: He kinda looks like Mr. Bean
Katney: A young Mr. Bean.
Nee: LOL
(Later Bruce walks through the rain attempting to hitchhike. He passes under a bridge as a car pulls to the side behind him. Betty steps out of the car and Bruce turns to her. They run to each other and embrace tightly, Betty asking him to come home with her. Again I say, awwwwww. ^^)
Katney: Bad night to go for a walk Brucey
Nee: bad night for her to wear a white shirt >_>
Katney: Awwww <3
Nee: ^^ together again
Nee: although how will the new BF feel about this?
Katney: Not well ^^
(At Betty's house she reveals she's collected Bruce's data onto a flash drive. General Ross is unaware that she has it and they haven't spoken in a few years. Betty asks why they can't talk to him, and Bruce tells her that the General wants to replicate the Hulk and turn it into a weapon. Elsewhere General Ross steps into cold storage and retrieves a serum, the tag reading that it was developed by "Dr. Reinstein.")
Nee: Dr Reinstein? Why does that name ring a bell?
Katney: Reinstein... hmm.
Nee: meh probably not important
Katney: ¬¬
( ::looks up:: Reinstein is an alias for Abraham Erskine, who created the "Super Soldier" serum. ... Ahh, I get it now. ¬¬ Betty helps Bruce get ready for bed, including a razor for the morning. She's disappointed to learn that he can't stay, but he'll let her walk him to the bus station in the morning and donate some money. Elsewhere Blonsky steps into a doctor's office without a shirt on, being told that he will receive a very low dose of the serum to remain sharp and disciplined. He is given the injections in the deep muscles in his neck, then flipped over on a restrained platform to receive an injection into his bone marrow centre in his back. He reacts in pain from the bone marrow injections.)
Nee: told ya he was skinny
Katney: This won't end well. <_< Lookit all the sharp things
Katney: Needles in neck... gah...
Katney: Needles in back... GAH
Katney: ::tips hat down::
(I'm squeamish, sue me. X3 In the morning Betty meets a freshly shaved Bruce outside. They start to walk, passing by the University campus... where she untucks his shirt and takes off his hat. They share a moment until Bruce notices movement. "They're here." He tells Betty to run as he turns and runs himself. Army humvees and tanks approach followed by soldiers on foot. Blonsky runs past several other soldiers, but is told to stop by General Ross.)
Katney: He looks different shaved
Nee: leave the hat on!
Nee: More running!!
Katney: RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
Katney: Ace dude runs fast
Nee: Yeah... that stuff act fast
(Bruce runs into the University building and ducks into hiding among shelves of books in the library. He takes out the flash drive containing his data... and shoves it down his throat. @_@)
Katney: HE SWALLOWED IT?!
Nee: Well he can't put it in clothes that'll get damaged
(Betty stops a tank by getting directly into its path, somehow knowing that General Ross, her father, is inside. She begs him to stop, but he refuses to listen. Bruce becomes trapped on an enclosed glass walkway between two buildings and covers his mouth with his jacket when they fire gas canisters inside. Betty runs towards the walkway, Ross orders soldiers to get her back. When Bruce sees a soldier tackle Betty to the ground he transforms into the Hulk. He stomps out a window, sending glass and debris flying in an explosion only the Hulk can make. He jumps outside and stands tall.)
Katney: She knows he's in THAT tank? X3
Katney: Welp, he's boned
Nee: sleepy time
Nee: get her back yourself
Katney: Hulk SMASH
Nee: ... oh.. it is on!
Katney: BOOM
(The soldiers open fire, but as usual the bullets roll off Hulk like water. He takes out the troops and humvees easily. "Blonsky, now you're up!" Blonsky arms himself with a grenade launcher and fires upon Hulk. Hulk arms himself with debris and uses it as a pair of shields against the launcher. Blonsky is easily able to avoid Hulk with his new speed and strength, and leads him towards two humvees armed with Stark Sonic Cannons. They fire upon Hulk and incapacitate him with sound, until he is able to throw one of his shields and destroys one of the cannons. He easily destroys the second.)
Nee: Ace is up!
Katney: Man he can move
Katney: Oy, sound cannons
Nee: Stark made
Katney: Whew, glad that's over X3
(Blonsky approaches Hulk after exhausting the bullets from his rifle. General Ross orders Blonsky to pull back but Blonsky ignores the command. He stands toe to toe with Hulk and asks him, "Is that all you got?" Hulk kicks him in the chest and sends him crashing into a tree across the field. Ross gives the orders to his troops to fall back as a gunship approaches in the distance.)
Nee: brave or stupid
Nee:... stupid
Katney: Why not both?
Nee: well... Ace is now dead
(Leonard arrives at the sidelines and watches as Betty approaches the Hulk. The gunship does not see Betty and opens fire upon Hulk. Hulk shields Betty with his entire body as bullets rain down upon them both. Hulk hurls his remaining shield at the gunship, causing it to crash to the ground and explode in a fiery blaze. Again, Hulk uses his body to shield Betty from the debris and flames. Ross and Leonard watch on, horrified, as it begins to rain. Hulk steps out of the flames with an unconscious Betty in his arms. Hulk glares at Ross before he turns and retreats with her.)
Katney: .... Is there NOTHING that can kill the Hulk?!
Nee: Well... there is a few things...
Katney: Keep 'em to yourself. X3
(Later at Betty's house we learn that Leonard tipped off General Ross. Ross asks Leonard if he knows where they're going, as Betty is in danger as long as she is with Bruce. "From who? He protected her. You almost killed her." Leonard isn't sure where they're going, and if Betty is aiding a fugitive Ross can't help either of them. Meanwhile Hulk carries Betty into the Smoky Mountains National Forest and seeks shelter in a cave. It continues to rain. Betty awakens, startled by Hulk at first. Thunder alerts Hulk, who thinks it's another attack, so he throws a boulder and roars at the storm. Betty calms him and lures him back into the cave to rest and watch the storm.)
Nee: hulk in the rain
Katney: Nice effects
Katney: Roaring contest
Nee: ^^ I like quiet hulk
Katney: You'd think he calmed down enough to change back
(We learn along with Ross that Blonsky is still alive, though most of his bones look like crushed gravel. Blonsky is heavily wounded and his skin is very red. Ross leaves just as Blonsky's fingers form a fist and his eyes open...)
Katney: Ace lives
Nee: HE SURVIVED
Katney: He's RED now
Nee: O.o
(Betty awakens the next morning laying over Bruce, transformed back from the Hulk. She later books them a room at a motel. In the shower Bruce imagines the shower head turning into machine guns from the gunship and curls up at the end of the tub.)
Nee: post tramatic stress
Katney: Indeed. Crash had that
Katney: Least his didn't include gunfire
(As Betty returns later with some shopping bags she hears Bruce vomiting. ... He got his data back. Ewwww. She tosses him a new pulse monitor and a pair of stretchy purple pants. ^^ Even if they are the stretchiest pair the store had Bruce refuses to wear them. X3 Awww! That was like the only reference I got!)
Katney: You'd think it would dissolve by now
Nee: purple!
Katney: Yay XD
Katney: Prepare to pause
Nee: prepaired
Katney: Pause
Katney: Alrighty, bathroom break taken
Katney: Ready on my mark?
Nee: not yet
Katney: Alrighty
Nee: baaaaack
Katney: Alrighty, just a sec
Katney: OK, on my mark again
Nee: ready
Katney: Mark again XD
(General Ross watches a news report about the attack at the University with cell phone footage by college student Jack McGhee. Meanwhile Betty gives Bruce a haircut, at first fluffing his hair and then she begins to massage his head and kiss his cheek. They face each other and begin to make out. They're soon on the bed, but Bruce watches as his new heart monitor begins to climb above 150. It beeps faster as they continue, so Bruce calls it off before he risks it going to 200.)
Nee/Katney: haircut/Haircut ^^
Nee: jinx
Katney: Head massage
Katney: Makeout!
Katney: That's distracting XD
Nee: ... bummer XD
(Ross is called in to see Blonsky. Ross assumes he has died and asks about his next of kin. "Ask him yourself." Blonsky is sitting up in the bed, looking good as new. "How do you feel?" "Pissed off and ready for round three.")
Katney: He's less red XD
Nee: ... still angry
(Bruce empties Betty's purse, telling her what she can't use because she can be traced through them. They only have $40 in cash, so Betty offers to sell her dead mother's necklace. Ross's men are briefed on Bruce, Ross believing Bruce will be easy to find because he speculates that he's looking for help. Ross knows Bruce uses Mr. Green as an alias and communicates with a Mr. Blue. At a gas station Bruce uses a computer to send Mr. Blue an email containing the data, telling him it's time to meet. SHIELD intercepts the email and quickly identifies Mr. Blue as Dr. Samuel Sterns of Grayburn College’s Cellular Biology Department.)
Katney: Sent items!
Katney: Samuel Sterns is Mr. Blue, eh?
Nee: Yeeep ^^ He is also... someone in the hulk world
Katney: Alrighty
(Bruce walks up to an old rusty truck, removing the "For Sale" sign. Betty takes a picture of Bruce by the truck with a digital camera. On the road Betty asks Bruce what being the Hulk is like. Bruce replies that it's like hallucinations that are amplified a thousand times, and he can only remember bits and pieces. Betty thinks that the Hulk knew who she was. "Maybe your mind is in there, but it's just overcharged and can't process what's happening." "I don't want to control it. I want to get rid of it." Meanwhile Blonsky volunteers for another procedure with Ross supervising.)
Nee: ... they are giving him more?
Katney: He's gona be redder
(The next morning there is a roadblock set up before Bruce and Betty can continue, the traffic jam is heavy. They abandon the truck and continue their journey to New York City by boat. They view a subway map at the Chambers Street Subway, but quickly decide that a cab would be less stressful for Bruce. ... They were wrong! XD The driver drives aggressively as if he's in a car chase and nearly runs over a pedestrian. Betty screams at the driver upon exiting and kicks at the car as he drives away. Bruce tells her, "You know, I know a few techniques could help you manage that anger very effectively." "You zip it. We're walking.")
Katney: Well that truck lasted a while
Katney: O_O Shoulda taken the subway
Nee: zip it XDDD
(Bruce and Betty arrive at Grayburn College and meet Dr. Sterns. Sterns is very physical as he explains that he's unsure if, with the right dosage, they'll cure Bruce or sustain one transformation if they induce a Hulk episode. If it's overshot even slightly it might kill Bruce. But Bruce tells him if they miss on the low side it will be very dangerous for Sterns. Sterns laughs that he's always been more curious than cautious. Meanwhile Blonsky appears to be sickly, but wild. His spine begins to push through his skin and out his back. He suits up and joins other soldiers in a jet. A soldier asks him, "How you feeling, man?" "Like a monster.")
Katney: This guy's pretty animated
Nee: yeah... like some 50's batman villain X3
Katney: Heh, don't say that, I'm already kinda leaning towards bad guy with him XD
Katney: Ugh, he seems more sickly
Nee: LOL don't worry... he is not the bad guy in this film
Katney: You said that about Opie ^^
(Sterns secures Bruce to a table with restraints and begins to prepare the procedure... first banging on a machine while muttering "Stupid graduate students." Sterns uses a dialysis machine to mix Bruce's blood with the antidote. He then gives Bruce an electroshock. Bruce's eyes flash green and then he slowly begins to shift into the Hulk. When Hulk appears Betty calms him enough for Sterns to administer the antidote into the Hulk's bloodstream. Hulk's eyes turn blue and then he passes out. He reverts back into Bruce, many blue veins visible on his body and face. Bruce revives, apparently cured.)
Nee: ... I'd be very worried if my doc said that to me
Katney: Um, YEAH.
Nee: And honestly, I was as shocked about Obiada as you were
Katney: ::smirks:: I was already "He's the villain, isn't he" in the first 5 minutes XD You tried to steer me to someone else
Katney: Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
Katney: Blue eyes
Katney: He's got a lot of face veins
Nee: they killed the hulk!
(As Ross' helicopters close in to the college Sterns comments that they don't know if they've neutralized one event or destroyed the cells, as none of the test subjects had survived. This catches Bruce's attention. "What test subjects?" While Ross' men set up snipers on the adjacent roofs and soldiers on the ground Sterns shows that he replicated Bruce's blood from the sample he was sent. Concentrated with various amounts of strength he has gallons of blood. Sterns wants to use it to make humans impervious to disease. While Blonsky and his team infiltrate the college Bruce tells Sterns they have to destroy the blood, despite Sterns' pleading.)
Katney: Test subjects? <_<
Katney: Eeeeeeew
Nee: ... Bruce... wanted to get rid of that and Stern made more
Katney: Indeed
(When snipers can't get a shot Blonsky moves in, once again ignoring Ross' orders. Bruce tells Sterns how the military wants to make it a weapon, but Sterns thinks Bruce is being paranoid. Just then a sniper fires a tranquilizer dart into Bruce's back through the window. Blonsky enters and tries to get Bruce to transform into the Hulk, slapping him as Bruce begins to succumb to the dart. Blonsky hits Bruce with the butt of his gun, knocking him out. Bruce is restrained to a stretcher as he's removed from the college, threatened by Ross to be put in jail forever if he took away the Hulk. Betty tells her father she won't forgive him and steps into the helicopter where Bruce has been loaded onto. Meanwhile Sterns is being questioned by Major Kathleen Sparr, asking if he could make more like Bruce, which Sterns denies. "He was a freak accident! The goal is to do it better!" Sparr is suddenly knocked out or killed by Blonsky. "Why are you always hitting people?" Blonsky then turns his gun onto Sterns, telling him to turn him into a creature like Bruce. Sterns can tell that Blonsky already has something in him. "I don't know what you've got inside you already. The mixture could be... an abomination." Blonsky hoists Sterns into the air, and Sterns makes it clear that he's willing if Blonsky is.)
Nee: why are you always hitting people
Katney: That wasn't nice!
Nee: an abomination
Katney: Yeah, knew I wouldn't like Mr. Blue enough X3
(Aboard the helicopter leaving the city Betty sits across from a handcuffed Bruce. She gently taps his foot with hers to have him look at her, then they hold hands. Sterns hooks Blonsky up to the machine, loading a canister of Bruce's blood at 14.56% strength. Blonsky quickly begins to transform into the Abomination. Sterns tries to communicate with him, but Abomination knocks Sterns aside, wounding his forehead. A drop of blood leaks from the canister onto Sterns' wound as Abomination laughs and leaves. Sterns' head begins to swell and expand... and he looks to the camera and smiles. <_<)
Katney: Footsies ^^
Katney: Should Blue's head be swelling like that? X3
Nee: X3 well... it's set up that isn't gonna be paid off... they wanted to make a sequal ¬¬
Katney: Myeh
(Abomination takes out numerous soldiers from inside the college and is soon out on the streets of New York City. In the helicopter Ross is told that Hulk is in the street, but Bruce is right there. Ross gets their position and orders the helicopter to turn around. They watch helmet-cam footage of the situation below... Abomination is leaving a trail of fire and explosions in his wake. Cars are being abandoned as civilians run in the other direction. We get our first full on view of Abomination and he is an ugly mother-toaster. Soldiers fire an RPG round at Abomination, who merely catches it and lets it explode, unphased. He charges at the soldiers who fired at him, knocking aside various cars in his path like they were toys. Once he catches up to them he asks for a real fight and smashes them with a taxi cab, cutting out the video feed.)
Katney: He looks like some dino
Katney: Like a Super Mario Bros movie goomba
Nee: He is The Abomination ^^
Katney: So the subtitles tell me ^^
Nee: And Mr Blue was gonna be the villain knwon as "The Leader"
Katney: Ouch
(Bruce asks Ross to take him there, as the Hulk is their best and probably only chance. Ross reluctantly agrees, ordering his pilot to land, but Bruce tells them to stay high and open the back door. Betty pleads with Bruce, as they don't know if he'll change. Bruce has to try, kissing her before he falls out the back. As Bruce falls he prepares to transform... but doesn't. "Oh, (toa--)!" He plummets down and crashes into the pavement, creating a crater. Betty and Ross watch the crater intensely for several moments... before Hulk emerges from it. He roars at Abomination and they charge at each other. They meet in midair, Abomination throws Hulk into a collection of piled up cars.)
Katney: Leap of faith
Katney: (Tooooooaaaasst)
Nee: Well... now... it is ON
(Hulk is actually dazed from the hit, but he manages to shake it off. As Abomination charges at him Hulk tears a police cruiser in half and holds each half as if they were boxing gloves. Hulk pummels Abomination into the ground with the car halves until there is nothing left but scrap. Abomination asks, "Is that all you've got?" He kicks Hulk in the chest and sends him flying through a building. Ross orders a soldier to fire at Abomination with a machine gun, chasing him across the rooftops. Hulk soon joins the chase, preventing Abomination from jumping into the helicopter, but still hang onto it. Their combined weight is too much, sending the helicopter spinning out of control and crashing into an abandoned lot.)
Katney: Police car punching gloves :3
Nee: you liked that?? X3
Katney: Amusing X3
(Betty and Ross survive the crash. Hulk moves to help them but Abomination jumps onto the helicopter. Hulk sighs in annoyance. XD Abomination tackles Hulk away from the helicopter. Betty attempts to climb out an open window over a dead body while the helicopter is seen to be leaking fuel and is sparking. Abomination easily takes Hulk's punches, telling him he doesn't deserve this power. As the helicopter catches fire Hulk overpowers Abomination and claps his hands, sending out a burst of air to extinguish the flames. Abomination rises behind Hulk and hits with a chain strapped to some concrete posts. >.o)
Katney: Get outta there Betty NOW
Katney: Behind you-- Ow X3
(Abomination prepares to swing the chains at Ross and Betty while Hulk is lying on the ground. "Any last words?" Hulk rises and raises his fists. "Hulk... SMASH!!" Hulk smashes his fists into the ground, shattering the pavement in a shockwave. Abomination loses his footing and thus he loses the chain. Hulk claims it, wrapping it around Abomination's throat trying to strangle him, but Betty stops him from killing him. The fight is over, Abomination is out. Hulk kicks Abomination to Ross' feet. He shares a small moment with Betty before a helicopter light shines down on him, forcing him to run. He tries to stay out of the light as he jumps from rooftops.)
Nee: HULK SMASH!!!!!
Katney: W00T
Nee: hulk wins ^^
Katney: Yay
Katney: Stey out of the light!
(Still in New York City Betty looks at the picture of Bruce she took when they purchased the old truck. In Bella Coola, British Columbia, Bruce jogs towards a log cabin in the wilderness. Inside he opens a small parcel, which contains Betty's mother's necklace. He puts it in an envelope addressed to Betty and sets it on the table. He meditates and we hear his beating heart... which gradually becomes faster. Days Without Incident: 31... which quickly drops down to 0 as Bruce's green eyes snap open and he smiles. Cut to black.)
Nee: maaw he got it back
Katney: Yay. ^^
Katney: He had no reason to change XD
(Cut to General Ross at a bar, having a few drinks. A man in a suit, Tony Stark, walks into the bar and over to the General. "You know, I hate to tell you 'I told you so', General, but that Super Soldier program was put on ice for a reason. (...) What if I told you we were putting a team together?" "Who's 'we'?" Tony just looks on... Credits roll and the film ends.)
Katney/Nee: Tony!/TONY
Katney: Credits!
Nee: Yeeeep ^^ that was it ^^
Katney: So next is Iron Man 2?
Nee: yeeeeppers
Nee: but that is for another day ^^
It sure is... Next time on the KatNee Movie Date, "Katney's Never Seen 'Iron Man 2'." I'm glad, it contains less moments that made me squeamish. See ya soon!
TOTAL:
Katney's Movies: 8
Nee's Movies: 5
Title card by
Anyway, this week we're bringing you "Katney's Never Seen 'The Incredible Hulk'".
Katney: ;_;
GAH
Katney: ::tips hat down::

Where else better to start than with the one where I admit NEE LAZY ^^
I have to admit it is weird Faving a picture I drew, feels a bit selfserving however as I am not posting them on my account, it's not too bad I guess.
I do have a sketch of me running with Katney that might get posted somewhere one day but yeah this way meant I only had to draw character backs and a pretty background. Just felt more true to the feel of the movie too.
