I like how the crocodile on the sign looks like its smiling. Like, c'mon kids, what's the worst that could happen? I'm sure that's a coincidence, and not what the painter meant, but it makes the sign kinda creepy. I think we should skip the swim and just go get ice cream instead!

The piccie of Predator came from my visit to the Predator set, which is just a few miles from where I'm staying down here. They have life size mock-up of him, and other stuff from the movie still there.

Actually I've seen them up close and personal when I was in Florida once. They're Quite Impressive up close!

I've actually been Closer......my father and I took a fan boat tour through the swamp. They come right up to the Boat when you stop.
I didn't have the nerve to pet one as the tour guide and my father Kept insisting.....I may be a Dumb Draggy, but I'm not Stupid....and I've still got Both my Paw's to prove it!

I had a black panther come right up to the wire mesh on his cage (which was like 1/2 inch squares) and stick his nose against it to smell my hand, which was only a couple of inches from him. I'd just been playing with a tiger cub so I must have smelled interesting. Anyway I was really tempted to boop his nose since he couldn't have bitten me through the mesh, but I didn't. I really regret not doing that!

What part of Texas do you live in? I lived in Amarillo for about 8 years in the 80's and early 90's. Not my favorite place I've lived in. Though I did dig Palo Duro Canyon, and just recently found out it's the largest canyon in the US after the Grand Canyon, which is pretty cool.

Boonies rock! I can't stand living anywhere with a population over about 20,000. And that's stretching it. Lucky me, I live on an old almond orchard ranch on top of a hill a mile or so out of town. So I get yoties, wild turkeys, skunks, and such too. And I have a yard bunny. A wild cottontail that hangs out and has been there for about 4-5 years now. She has babies once in a while but they always disappear in a few months. She's there all the time and is tame enough to let me walk right by her without flinching. I got pix of her on The Daily Bunny twice. She really gets relaxed around my trailer. This is her.

She sure is! I think she feels protected staying near me and my trailer since no predators will come near it. She often spends the whole day under that pine tree facing my trailer and keeps me company as I come and go.
