When it comes to events, timing is everything... especially during February, 2019 - which happens to be my latest 'sweeps month'...
For example, there's Groundhog Day on February 2nd, and the big day of "Super Bowl LIII" on February 3rd. But then, there's the "Lunar New Year" - held on sporadic days each year. In 2019, the Lunar Calendar officially starts on February 5th... and, by the sheerest of coincidences, February 5th is also the day when President Trump plans to deliver his annual "State of the Union" address to Congress in Washington, D.C.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi finally allowed the POTUS to speak his piece, after a 35-day partial government shutdown (which messed up lots of American agencies, including the F.B.I., the C.I.A., N.A.S.A., the T.S.A., Homeland Security, etc.). But knowing Trump, he's going to ruffle a few feathers, from the moment he opens his mouth behind the dais - whether it's about that Mexican border wall, keeping the U.S. troops in Syria, or threatening a national emergency (the latter scenario of which might result in a secondary - and even longer - government shutdown).
So, to commemorate these two occurrences on February 5th, here's an all-new "Front & Back" comic gag with 'Donovan Lupus'. And, in the meantime, for those of you celebrating the "Year of the Pig/Boar"... "Gung Hay Fat Choy!" And as for the "SOTU" address later tonight... Don't miss it, if you can!
