“I. WANT. MORE. KIIIIIIDS”- Poppy probably

I am a dumb sucker for Dreamwork’s new Trolls franchise. I, like most rational people, groaned internally when I saw the first ad blip first in theaters of a reboot nobody asked for done in a way nobody wanted. A bunch of bright muppet-like dingles dancing to a pop song, farting and making funny voices. UUUUggggh

But despite myself when I finally saw the movie (ooo you bet I waited for Netflix) it was pleasantly surprising. I do find the scrap-book style world incredibly endearing and even the (albeit minimalist) modifications to the Trolls with their hair powers interesting. I would gladly play a troll for a small soldiers style RPG session or even a platformer video game.

I was disappointing by the lack of original songs as an hour and half of licensed pop tunes does not sell the movie well beyond anything but lazy kiddie feed and will assuredly cause a very ungraceful ageing process. Labrythn this will not be.

Still my unspoken prayers were answered when Trolls got their own cartoon on Netflix as has been the habit for a lot of dreamworks’ projects. I hear its non-canon as their is another movie coming buuut at this point I would prefer the term Alternate Universe. In any case I very much enjoyed it (beyond for the episode where Russel Brand Troll comes back and everybody forgives him, and everyone gets angry at Branch when he roves he hasn’t changed GRRR-)
In any case my biological imperative to pair-bond kicked in for the obvious protagonist couple and I feel no shame for that. Branch & Poppy saved their species so…continue to ensure its survival. Poppy would of course make the happiest mother. Branch…probably exhausted. And a minor head canon concurrent with having somehow not gone extinct in their deadly world up and until this point and being inclined to hedonistic life styles, Trolls probably have a lot of kids.
