Commission done for
kurtmrufa , thank you very much!
Lovely lovely picture to work on. Gave me some problems here and there but even despite that it just was lovely. Just was a feel-good subject especially in these cold and dark winter times :D

I cannot fully understand or explain why this makes me so very happy. Seriously. This is something I would pay to have an ultra-high resolution scan, or a film-quality photo, and have it printed on a large format printer for framing and hanging on the wall.
Is this physical media? Oil and canvas?

"The robot in the garden" seems almost an archetypal figure to me. A thing of artifice surrounded by a sea of vivid, unplanned life; a thing made to mimic human life, but enduring through the passage of years, unchanging amid change, a witness to the passing of generations far, far past the people who made it and gaining thereby an understanding of humanity that no human could ever achieve. I've read or watched a number of stories with that premise.
This picture brought all of that together in my mind just now <:3 Quite an impact! For me, the absence of any other figure, any presence of the hands and minds that shaped everything in the picture, is hugely powerful. What's outside the garden? The familiar bustle of human life? Or a world so different we couldn't recognise it, maybe a world from which human life has passed?
Yeah I know, you were commissioned to paint a robot donkey in a pretty garden XD This is a personal reaction. You often paint pictures that make me want to look longer, and think.

Haha thank you very much, and hey even if it's just a commission with a robot donkey in a garden, if it spurrs some further thoughts and wonderings in some people then that's a great thing in my opinion! It's why i rarely really talk about the picture itself very much, i think it's much more interesting to let people sort of forge their own path because nothing i could tell them about the actual idea behind the painting could be as interesting as the one they put together themself given that their thoughts are just inevitably steered by what they enjoy and find intruiging etc.
Also gonna take the quick time here and thank you for the other comments as well :) Always feels a little weird to answer to a bunch from the same person, so i skipped on answering a few where i really couldn't say much!
