So, I usually don't like to have other people know that I'm a geek, but...
I've seen countless other people do something like this. Now, the only reason I'm GOING to do this, is because only ONE of the ones I've seen was tournament worthy.
Conceit isn't something I'm huge on... but seriously. None of them are ever even sleeved when they're photographed.
So, I figured there should be a tournament-worthy deck posted.
It's just so irritating to hear someone go "Oh I play Yugioh too!" and watch them pull out a deck that wouldn't see it through a single round of any serious tournament.
It'd be like if you were a really good cook, and someone comes up to you and is like "I can cook too!" and then pulls a box of cereal off the shelf.
Also, what else is annoying? When people take their geekiness to the next level and NAME the deck. "I call this my Unfathomable Fiends!"...
ugh.

ahh okies cause I have a lot of Pokemon cards and some real and FAKE Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that I keep so that I can tell which ones are real and which are fakes but I envy you with your deck but I have two Bakugan and four cards and I'm getting the DS game for christmas
Gold Letters, hard cover "sleeve" that's part of the card and makes it micrograms heavier and like 1/16th mm thicker, with diagonal lines running top to bottom right to left with small *star patterns* in between them.

Cool collection!
I can relate to your ire. I've fallen into the exact trend when I first saw Yugioh! Although I've never heard of anyone naming their decks.
Now I make a good amount of test decks, and a number of trial and error duels before I challenge anyone with significant skill.
I also try to avoid the mainstream archtypes that seem to be taking the dueling world by storm. I've made a pretty successful deck comprised of mainly of beast-warriors and psychic type monsters.
Anyway, your deck looks pretty tournament worthy to me. Just be careful of Lightsworn's kickback effect. With only 40 cards, I'd be easy to mill your own deck down to 0...

Well, I like the mainstream for tournaments mainly. Because, I play to win, and quite frankly, if it's not a mainstream, Top Tier, deck, it's not going to win you a tournament. I have plenty of lesser decks, for fun, but I'd never run them in seriously play.
I currently run it at 41, and even when It was at 40, I've never milled out. I've gotten to one card left, drawn it, and won. But I've never lost but decking out, and I've been playing Lightsworns since the start :p

Dang, that's some luck ya got! Even when I was trying the Lightsworns, I would always mill myself out if my deck was less the 50!
And yeah, I know there aren't many deck types that could defeat Top Tier decks. It's why I rarely duel with them in any serious format. I want to see if I can build a deck to counteract some of the infamous strategies that make such a deck so popular. I'm a bit over analytical that way!

I guess the only thing that can defeat a Top Tier deck is another...
Ah well... best laid plans *shrug
And while Lightsworns are mostly consistent, the only way I was able to work with them was to balance it out with at least half of the monsters being DARK monsters. Eh, it worked. I guess for a serious play I'll use it then. Although, I'm sure someone else runs a deck like that... I'll just cross that bridge when I come to it.

the deck that i use was made by my brother (with additions from me, it's too big to play a tourney now, though) and i don't really name it anything. i just call it "The Deck my Brother Made Me" and if i play, i play with that one more than anything else i also have a weenie rush deck using ojamas. (lol)
i agree with you, when they change terms and created new card type, mainly the sychros, it got away from its roots. not to mention i think there are no more fusions being made. this is coming from a person who ha been collecting from the start of it, an who has every yu-gi-oh manga.

Not really, doesn't affect me in the slightest. And no, necrocannon decks don't stand up, not even the old Perfect Circle, or Chaos, or any of the now-banned combos. They're nowhere near as fast. I've had this deck for over a year, tweaking it here and there, and there's nothing that gives me a hard time
OMG YOU PLAY YU-GI-OH!!!!??!??!111one2too!!!
ok hurr hurr... no trolling.
Actually like a lot of anime geeks out there I too dabble in the forbidden arts that is Yu-Gi-Oh.
Down in Akihabara there's a store this guy runs with literally thousands upon thousands of cards on display.
maybe 80% are english too. I guess they are as collectable here as Japanese/French/German cards are back in the U.S.
Oh and I play Zombies, and Flip/Stall decks.

I used the Invincible Fortress to begin with and dropped in the material cards for the skyfire fortress *I don't have the fortress card yet*, those cards are rediculous in stall decks because it makes your opponenet destroy the first spell, trap, AND monster *all three not just one* that they play per turn.
