EDIT: Made a few changes as I wasn't 100% happy with the design. Rainbow stripe instead of spikes and "mane" is now as stretchy and shiny as the rest of the body <3

Morph was an "order" for a gardening and lands helper by Sparkles maaaaaany years ago, to which, after the place she requested them from was knocked down, completely forgot about. So when they showed up in her forest one day, decades later, she was pretty surprised (and a bit relieved for some extra helper hands in areas she reeeeally can't get to well) - how they knew who she was or where she lived is a mystery, one Sparkles couldn't figure out in the end. Maybe they had the info of their "delivery address" but just never... got sent out, and only now left the ruins of the lab? Who knows.
Morph likes to do nothing but help. So they do! Changing their shape to whatever they need to be, and sliding through tiny holes and tunnels - they are found to be all over the place, no questions asked (tho the creature does disturb a lot of the residents a lot of the time, not that Morph minds or notices!).
When Sparkles noticed she could actually wear Morph as a suit, she could shapeshift with them slightly, allowing her to take on a "form" of a Elistiq and have all their abilities. Tho.... she doesn't do it for much or very long, as it makes her feel a bit sick after ("My body isn't naturally stretchy, danmitt!")
> Morph is able to change colour/go see-through to fit their surroundings/the host wearing them.
> Morph doesn't speak. Just makes weird noises, sounds and clap gestures. Sparkles normally seems to tell what he wants tho.
