God, I am so pissed. Sorry for the resubmit, but it seems I accidentally deleted this out of my gallery. |C
For a moment I was scared I'd had lost the condensed back story I'd typed up..
Copied and pasted from DA:
Poor little broken Ankh.
Ankh was another experiment; In fact, Rigor's sibling since the same process and draconic genes were used as a base. Silenus Labs stumbled across some of Wray's notes on experiment 11-9.. Enough to salvage and start anew. But the problem was.. Wray was dead, and his experiment was also presumably dead, so there were a few holes in the research they had to patch on their own in hopes to match the caliber in which Wray created Rigor.
The scientist who made Ankh was brilliant, but not as brilliant as Wray.. He was also religious, and did not believe in playing God, so when he was asked to create something from Wray's notes, he refused. But a refusal was not something Silenus wanted from the lead scientist in their company..In time, they changed his mind by holding his family hostage; In particular his little girl of age 5. With no other choice but to obey the monsters, he went to work with creating Ankh. He knew it was wrong.. He knew that he was not capable of making something that would be able to live normally.. But he did for the sake and lives of his family.
And so, Ankh was born. He was far from perfect. He had no eyes, and was deaf. An abomination to the company, but still worth keeping to study where things went wrong. His creator, after the release of his family, could not go on knowing the fate and disabilities of the life created.. So he sought to kill it. Late at night, he snuck into the lab where Ankh was and prayed over him before revealing a sliver blade. He prayed for forgiveness, he prayed for peace for the soul he'd be sending to the Father, and placed rosary beads around the creature's neck. As he raised the blade to kill the life he'd created, security caught him, and shot him, afraid of losing the creation they had just gained.
----
And that's the origin of Ankh in a nutshell. He's a strange character in the sense the he managed to pick up on religion despite being deaf, mute and blind. Some think it was because of the moment his creator prayed over him, but there's no documentation of it. He stitched his own mouth for a sort of twisted vow of silence, and stays bound by the rope around his wrists to show that he is God's special servant. He will only bow to One. He will kill for only One. Though he knows of religion, as you may guess, it is twisted and inaccurate in his head. No one knows how he manages to function with all of his "disabilities," but some believe that there is something, whether it be God himself or not, guiding him spiritually. He suffers from stigmata.. If you don't know what it is, look it up, but because of this, he feels as if it is evidence that God chose him, and that he is indeed special.
..The rope also doubles as a rope dart weapon. If you'd like to know more about him, ask. I WANT TO STRESS THAT THIS IS NOT BASHING ON ANY RELIGION. OKAY?

dowsing crystals hang at the end of a rope or chain and are used to "communicate" with the spirit world... supposedly spirits can make the bob circle along the rope or chain in a certain direction (clockwise for yes counter clockwise for no ect.) it is also thought that some people can use them to direct them, the dowsing bob tugging at the rope or chain and leading the "psychic" towards what they are seeking.
I always find paranormal things kind of interesting so I was just wondering if it played a similar role... kind of showing him directions without sight *shrugs*
