"Aren't you afraid? Afraid of running out of time because of me?" Beatrice turned on her side to stare at Annie with a softened expression, "Of course not." Annie's brows furrowed, knotting in confusion at her words. "Why would I be afraid of running away with you? I knew what I asked when I did. If I was afraid, I wouldn't have done it." Beatrice responded sincerely.

Annie could feel tears slipping from her eyes and she turned her head away, but returned her gaze to the woman laying beside her. She felt the calloused digits of her lover grazing her skin and wiping away the water that spilled from her eyes. "Even when this body is no longer able to exist in this form, you have my heart and I will always come back to you."

"W... what if you forget me? What if..." Annie's mouth shook as she spoke her words, clear fear in her tone. Her doubts were strong, not in their relationship and their clear emotions, but in herself. "What if it's not enough, what if my love and strength isn't enough to bring you back again?"

Beatrice's lazy, oceanic stare gazed up into Annie's, "Your eyes tell a truth you can't speak, my darling heart. Such a strong, hidden will lingers so deeply inside you. You are my endless love, and that, that alone is enough for me. I will return one day, but for tonight, I am here. I am here, and I'm not going anywhere."

And so the ocean and the shore slept soundly for one more eve.
