of his oc Kadu (seen center rear) going on a tour of Kadurro. In this scene Kadu's friend in the town brings him on a tour of all the scenes for a dwarven tourist. First stop is of course the dwarven district's craft row with its master artisans and smiths.

Dwarf Facts!
Since recorded history began the dwarves have been without the touch of mana. Like a wound on the soul the entire race is bereft of not just magical power but the very ability to channel mana. Wizardry, sorcery, druid-craft, and even divine powers all stem from the essential source of magical power, mana. However, for whatever reason dwarves have always lacked this ability. Even in ancient times when magic was in its infancy and races began to experiment with their powers and the world around them the dwarves could not muster so much as a single spark or puff of air using magic. When the ancient wars began they found themselves uniquely vulnerable.
Dwarven history is a tale of tragedy and determination, exploitation and revolution, unity and triumph in the face of the harshest adversity. Without mages dwarven society evolved quite differently from others. It wasn't long before demons and other beings from beyond the material plane began to incur into material space taking bodies, lives, and souls for their amusement and ambition. Many dwarven civilizations, mighty in power and craft, fell to these ethereal invaders. Ruined dwarven castles and cities litter the world over. Much have been abandoned or repurposed by other races and kingdoms. However, those who survived did so by incorporating other species into their societies. Mages seeking patrons and protection from physical danger make good bedfellows with dwarves seeking magical and spiritual protection.
As such dwarves live with and among many races and often have large families of powerful mages who act as guardians of their homes from demons, monsters, ghosts, and the like. Dwarves in turn who live among other civilizations are quick to adapt and create social harmony with their neighbors. Dwarves are proud but thick skinned as well. You really have to try and piss off a dwarf. You'd be hard pressed to find a more welcoming and jovial spirit than a dwarves'. Those lands who host dwarven families and clans gain powerful fighters, ferocious barbarians, deadly monks, and skilled rangers. Additionally the wondrous crafts of the dwarven kind will be made wherever they go. Dwarven artificers are uniquely skilled in the creation of magical items, one of the few ways they can take advantage of mana.
Dwarven artifacts are often powerful runic items which are capable of generating and casting their own spells. When damaged, they lose their effects and need repair, but when unbroken provide the race with powerful tools to even the odds. However, even with the best artificers in the world the inability to cast magic limits the power and scope of items they can make alone. As such dwarven artificers almost always work with a paired partner of another race to create items with even more abilities and power. Seen here a goblin wizard is enchanting a dwarven blade with lightning magic. The two must be in perfect synch however, and even a simple mistake can lead to the failure of the venture and loss of precious resources.
In Kadurro, seat of wealth and trade for the continent, such resources are quick to come by (if not cheap) and a bustling trade of magical items flows from the city. Many of its best items stem from the city's dwarven district. Seated on the west side of town at the intersection of several larger districts the dwarven district isn't a formal location, but rather an informal collection of dwarven families and clans who make the area their home. Within a short walk the market, housing, port, and pleasure districts of the west side are all easily accessed and the district has become home to several large lavish hotels for tourists and dignitaries, especially dwarven, who enjoy the location and its lavish amenities. Though the east side of the city is home to it's most infamous pleasure district the west side is almost equally lavish if not seedy. After a trip to the forges no one could resist the opportunity to visit the city's largest public bath for a relaxing clean and if you have the coin massage, food, and drink.
I love writing these... I am making a world anvil page for the world of Urra (the planet Kadurro is on) and it's locations, people, and beasties.

A lovely story about dwarves and a lovely amount of detail in the lovely piece! Love how your art comes out, even the SFW stuff makes my day to see. I absolutely adore the amount of detail and emotion push into each drawing through facial expression, body posture and movement and I just love the amount of expressiveness in your art's eyes! Anyway, beautifully done and can't wait to see the other two parts of this.
