carcaras are pretty neat. Their face changes color depending of how they're feeling and as such i wanted to draw michael like that.

It's cool to see that rather unknown bird of prey get more love in the artworld. Especially coming from an artist with a beautifully expressive art style such as yours. C: He looks neat! Such a handsome face~
Caracas birds are pretty metal. They can both fly and run, and have the instinct of biting their prey's head off before anything else. Once I was at a park that had birds of preys in them, and I had to give the caracas bird 2 or 3 whole, pre-killed chicks for food. The bird immediately ran towards them, bit off their heads one by one, and then started eating. The prey was already dead, yet that instinct still remained.
(On a sidenote, I'll forever wonder if getting decapitated is a slow and painful death or not. What if you get overwhelmed with enormous phantom pain from the neck down, but can't even scream? D: )

thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it and it makes me continue with the more unknown/under represented animals.
We have carcaras here in my region, I havent managed to see one but i hear their cries in the sky sometimes. They pretty much eat anything if you let them. Including carrion sometimes.
It really is fascinating! I like to think its the dino genes that make them so good at striking right on the neck.
(omg i hope not. it sounds really painful feeling detached from your whole body.)
