A short biosheet for one of the main characters in the Sojus Wars novel I'm writing.

Build: Slender, toned, athletic.

Appearance: Joniffer's physique is typical of the average Vulperion male; slender and petite, almost feminine figure with curved hips. Fur is black except for a white underbelly and limbs end in five-digit appendages.

Uniform Description: Foxann wears a standard General Duty uniform (see ref.)

Personality: Joniffer is generally calm, empathetic, and observant as befitting a competent consoler. Years spent offering console to captains and senior officers have shown him the reality of command and the difficult decisions that await him in the captain's chair, causing him to initially be fairly intimidated by the responsibilities he knows are waiting for him. Despite this, he is exceptionally patriotic and dedicated to the Confederacy as a whole, rising to the challenge of leadership once the Sojus Wars begin. After all, if not him, then who?

Skills: Joniffer is a trained officer and consoler of the Ro'Erry Navy, proficient with the particle pistol and basic starship operation and holding the equivalent of a doctorate in psychology. He is also well learned in the history of multiple star-faring species, including the Earth Hegemony and the member species of the Confederacy.

Unique Abilities: As a Vulperion, Foxann has access to the following natural abilities
-Empath: Vulperions posses a psychic ability to reach the emotional state of other sapient beings, their emotional state manifesting as a fluid halo of various colors around their head. While every Vulperion can use this ability, it requires training to be used with precision and can only be used on sapient creatures in direct line of sight of the Vulperion (video transmissions count as “line of sight.”) This power is not without a weakness, Vulperions suffer physical discomfort in the presence of beings caught in extreme emotional turmoil. This discomfort usually manifests in things like headaches and nightmares but can be tolerated with training.
Foxann has honed this ability to enhance his psychiatric training, allowing him to endure the mental discomfort associated with being surrounded by people suffering from psychological trauma and able to precisely detect minute changes in mood and emotional state.
-Pheromone Control: A far more infamous ability, Vulperion biochemistry allows their body to produce potent pheromones allowing them to “nudge” other lifeforms into accepting certain suggestions. Yet these suggestions can be resisted though it requires a strong mental will to do so. More importantly, the pheromones require direct contact for the best results. Flesh to flesh with more exposed flesh being better. However the pheromones can be rubbed on another person's belongings for indirect contact. The emotions that can be manipulated with this ability are primarily lust/arousal (unsurprisingly) as well as calm.
Foxann's mastery over his Pheromones is primarily focused on giving the recipient a feeling of calm which has unsurprisingly been of great aid to him in his career. Using his abilities in this manner has recently become taboo in Vulperion society.

Hobbies: In addition to his skills, Foxann has several hobbies including Vulperion forms of yoga and is an avid fan of old fiction.

Personal Conflicts:
Became a popular figure in the Confederacy for talking down a Hegemony war hero, Colonel Pierce. The truth is much more complicated and something that haunts him.
His promotion to captain of the Loreseeker is a political appointment, something he's not happy about. Feels that his years of service in the Naval medical corps as a psychiatrist have been cheapened by Senator Zeefa's meddling.
