Another stopgap ref sheet

Let me introduce Alekka, a 25 year old ferret who serves as the engineer of the armed trade crawler TCA Blacksilver, commanded by Capt. Nikkas. Alekka is a bit of an oddball at times, and certainly a very energetic person. She has a bright disposition and a good sense of humor, but she can also be a bit of a bully now and then, making fun of people or playing bad pranks on them.
Besides engineering, she has a passion for guns, and she carries a scoped rifle with her when she's outside of the engine room.
Alekka was born into a large family in the Kyrvander countryside. Her father owned a farm, but with ten kids (mostly males) he struggled to make ends meet. Alekka grew up helping her family tend to the farm, and saw the arrival of the first mechanical farming equipment to the farmstead, during the height of the mechanical age. She went on her first hunting trips with his father and brothers when she was 13, and demonstrated good marksmanship with the long musket, while her other two sisters were more interested in knitting and basket-making. She spent the next few years learning to hunt and working in the farm, usually helping repair the machines, as her smaller size allowed her better access to cramped spaces and recesses.

She was 17 when the Myrnish-Kyrvander War started, and she decided to try her luck joining the King’s Scouts, but her father convinced her to join the Royal Engineers instead and managed to get her a spot at the Officers’ School in the hopes the war might be over before she finished training. However, she graduated as a motors engineer less than a year later and joined a maintenance unit at the frontline, where she spent most of the war. Towards the end, as the Kyrvander Royal Army began retreating from the River Myrkan, she was transferred as chief engineer to Grand Commander Nikkas Karssu’s flagship crawler, the KRA Blacksteel, due to a lack of skilled personnel. In this new position, her skills as both an officer and an engineer were tested in full, as Nikkas led his ten war crawlers into a raiding campaign against Myrnish forces, in order to delay their advance and allow the Kyrvander Army to retreat in an orderly fashion.

Once the war was over and lost, Alekka returned to her family’s farm to discover it had been taken over by the government. With her family relocated to the capital, Skyrtand, she soon found a job with Nikkas at her old post in his new land vessel, the TCA Blacksilver, an armed trade crawler.
