Basically, the myth I have around in my head is that back when Louisiana was founded, a docile demon had been created to watch over the settlers. It helps them find ways to live in the nasty swamps and is initially just a guardian angel over the Cajuns. And I just threw together a name for it, sort of like the Rougarou which I love especially
