Heh, ''tis a shame they do not have their own individual personalities, that may have allowed this hive mind to win a long term war. Afterall...some of the most effective strategies are ones born of unconventional roots.

Perhaps in the future, the hive may have to give a sense of individualism to the bishops?

The Formidrons have no need for individualism, their evolutionary strategy is "all-as-one." The hive mind is responsible for generating strategy based on all the consciousnesses it has absorbed. Out of ideas? Unlikely, but assimilate more organisms. The drone forms are little more than weapons of the hive mind, some more valuable/powerful than others, but all replaceable and generally not a problem if lost.

The true test to such a statement...are multiple problems branching in multiple forms. All as one can be seen as a basket case to some. That's the danger I was hinting at with individualism, many separate minds can create differing solutions. Chances are if such a solution can provide a means to counter the hives goop...then they can't extract knowledge of how it operates. And what if around the same time, someone finds a way to disrupt the hives mental link. Will such a thing make the drones unable to function, or will the previous mind come back out?

Btw, don't think of this as me trying to destroy your species or deminish them. I feel like this sorta thought process could lead to interesting routes of possible world building. Wondering how a hive mind will react to multiple problems being presented. XD

In such a situation, I would willingly join the hive and serve as a mediator, to convince the hive's targets that they have nothing to be afraid of, and that the hive is what's best for them, so that they too will join willingly.

I'd be a manipulative negotiator, essentially.
