We have some time, still, and since we have the time, now seems good for some explanation of Secret's MAGIC AND WITCHCRAFT, after which we should demonstrate by using AUGMENT on Devon. He seems like he would be more useful right now as a full bodied companion.
If he doesn't like that, we could always return him to full doggishness later.
But also, maybe when we aren't in such dangerous circumstances... Secret can come back around to explain this lock, her history, what she plans to do next, and... well.... everything
