That's one of the reasons why I like the Paladin so much. If I could own one, I would. In fact, I probably could if I was willing to spend large amounts of money on one. I mean, I've heard that there's people who own old tanks and APCs. If you wanted to own an older M109 variant, you probably could, so long as the gun wasn't functional.
Heres the long list of TL DR (Too Long : Didn't Read) requirements for owning a "tank like" vehicle, according to ATF, that is so that you can have one in legal possession.
1.) There must be a drilled whole through the Breech so a Live Shell can not be mounted or fired from it.
