The real question here is: Is it just a simple TF? Or is this really a TFTG?

...Then again as the poor thing's not been given a gender I guess that's up to the viewer to decide.

Spyro's male yes...Cynder's female thought and has become the on/off love interest/needs saving gal of the series who can randomly fight when she FEELS like it ( or when plot gives her a bone anyway ).

...So yeah, poor thing seems to be getting the full treatment of TFTG...
