Out of all the pokemon in the world, bugs get the LEAST attention of them all. And I'll admit, when I first went with Blue/Red/Yellow in the old days I always had a Caterpie... that I always raised, and kept with me the entire time on my adventures (Of course, it... ya know evolved...)

Caterpie's in the AR setting however have a couple different effects when put under radiation. Looking at it in a standard way, these bugs are mutated of course but some of them (NOT ALL) grow to an immense size. These are generally males of the species, females remain rather small in stature.

This concept here would be a decent sized male, having apparently just feasted on some unsuspecting Caravan goer. The stretchy part of the body is a holding pouch for things while the rest of the body is digesting, it's an extremely thin piece of carapace that outlines all the juicy details. Yeah I'm sick I know it... shut up :P Males often times enjoy decorating their antenna with random body parts. How they wrap them around the massive things I don't know. And I don't want to ask.

But yes, Caterpie's like this guy here are quite rare in the AR Setting. And the only time they are seen it generally in the Goldenrod Arena's, where they are used as punishment for the bad fighters. That's supposed to be a Pikachu in his throat... but it looks like a funky dog face D<
