I'm generally not happy with the way I draw Nyxis's in-story crystal growth in its later stages. Here are some previous attempts at it:

I just feel like I'm missing something in the texture or the imagery to capture the intensity I want. I focused more on the feelings I want to get across than the physical appearance of the crystals for this piece to see if maybe that's the direction I need to go in. I don't think so, I'm still not happy with it, but it was an hour's work so I'm posting it!
