Today it was officially announced by Hasbro that season 9 will be the last season for My Little Pony's 4th generation aka Friendship Is Magic. A lot of folks in the community have known this was coming for awhile thanks to various bits of leaked info. Still-a lot of fans don't pay attention to that stuff or hope for it to be proven wrong. I wrote this as a way to both honor all the amazing moments and friends this show has helped me experience and hopefully help fans who are upset cope with this being their favorite shows last season.

Fans of the show should take heart. According to these same leaks generation 5 while taking place in a new setting will contain many of the same elements we FIM fans are familiar with only in a teen-rated format. This means they'll be able to tell more mature stories that don't have to pull as many punches when it comes to drama and character. As far as characters go they're looking to keep to a similar main cast with only a few superficial changes. The biggest change will be the setting. I won't go into too much more detail. I just hope fans give this new generation a chance and don't give up on the fandom. I have a good feeling there's so much more pony awesomeness to come.
