It's a beautiful tower in a marvelous setting. I can see why the Boks wanted it built there.

Actually, the gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., His father laid out much of Central Park and Massachusetts' Mount Auburn Cemetery. FLO Jr. was also worked the World Columbian Exhibit in Chicago (at only 23!) and George Vanderbilt's Biltmore Estate. Many beautiful places have had his hand upon them, but he is largely forgotten today, lost in his sire's long shadow.
