Yup, that's why they got paid so much for a seemingly simple errand. It turns out the air is so fattening, that just breathing it causes weight gain, and the Kobolds were the best choice for the job, since they've dealt with extreme fatness before. I mean, it's only been fifteen minutes and Delta's already outgrown his suit, and Borusa's quite shapely as well...
