数年前まで、通っていた事務所。
Until a few years ago, I was using an office.
トイレの模様をみてたら、メスケモが、、、
Looking at the pattern on the floor of the toilet, the female beast ,,,
事務所をやめるまで、踏まないように気をつけましたが、
I was careful not to tread until I quit the office,,,,
古いビルのゆえに立て替えも、、、、今はどうしてるのでしょうね。^^;;
To change for an old building,,,,,, Now, how is she doing? ^ ^ ;;;

It does look more cute than scary. I like how you represent it in the art. It is fascinating to see what you see in a pattern like that.
We do not generally treat faces in walls like ghosts in the USA unless they look very realistic but I can see why someone would do that. I would have a hard time not seeing the face and giving it acknowledgement myself.

日本では、昔から、幽霊を描いた掛け軸があります。
In Japan, there is a hanging scroll drawn a ghost from a long time ago.
その影響で日本人には壁の模様を顔見せる要因なんでしょうね。＾_＾;;
Due to that influence, it seems to be a factor that shows the pattern of the wall to the Japanese. ＾_＾;;

Sorry if it not easy to read my replies as they are in English only. (Though you seem to be doing fine as far as I can tell.)
I did suspect it was a historical cultural belief.
Even without that specific influence to guide my own belief I can still imagine feeling like there was a spirit in such a wall.
Some times in the USA we will see Trees that seem to have a face and consider that they have the spirit of an old man trapped in the tree.
We also tend to believe that cars have certain personalities based on how the front arrangement of headlights and grill look. (Sort of the face of the car.)
We have a lot much stranger superstitions as well.
It is nice to see a pleasant spirit in such a pattern though.
