The sound of nervous clacking could be heard as a certain Absol tapped his claws on the marble tile beneath him.. He had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for the sun to set, and moon to illuminate the courtyard in Topaz City, where he intended to meet with the one he'd been partnered with for the past year, wanting to confess his feelings face to face with her.. His heart raced as his mind jumped from thought to thought, making him grow increasingly anxious with every dreadfully slow minute that passed. The sky shifted from a deep magenta to a soft, lush violet as the last rays of the sun dipped beyond the horizon... Almost there..

His senses on high alert, it didn't take long for him to notice the soft padding of graceful paws approaching him. He turned, his eyes wide as Lapis neared. Swallowing his heart back down, he let out a bracing sigh and greeted her..
"Lapis, I.. I understand you wanted to meet me here after you received my letter.. I..-" She placed her paw on his shoulder to stop him. "Lumen. I wish to say what I feel. I.. Don't know if I can say that I share your feelings. I say that, because I do not know what Love truly feels like. It's entirely foreign to me.. But, I do know that being around you make me happy, and that's a feeling I don't want to leave me." She said, as the smaller male trembled in anticipation. "Will you stay with me, Lumen. As my partner.. and perhaps more?" She asked, bringing a smile to the muzzle of her partner. "Y-Yes! Of course, Lapis! Nothing would make me happier!"

As the pair stared into one another's eyes, a mutual smile formed on their muzzles, and in a moment of mutual instinct, their snouts met in a soft nuzzle. Even if her mind couldn't articulate her feelings, her heart knew as sure as Lumen's.. They loved eachother.
