COMIC SANS FOLDER Even if a main character is a loner, there almost always is that one sidekick, a love interest, epic friend, a fan, second soul, a cousin~
Their role is kinda obwious, a comedian, emotional and physical support, maybe the voice of logic.
I find it actually pretty easy to make a sidekick relationship look forced and dull. Mostly because as an author wants two characters to stick together, imagines all these adwentures that they can survive together.
The author forgets about how these two character actually stayed together because not gonna lie, finding believable and not-cliche reason to stick together is in my opinion the hardest thing to archieve while creating a story. Even harder is to show it without too much explanation.
Aside from that we also need to remember their personalities and how they react in specific situations.
Have you ever watched a movie where a princess loves prince because he somehow saved her life and nothing else? Or a hero meets funny boi and BOOM, now they are BBFs? Have you ever felt like it was too quickly and forced? That exacly what I am talking about. It happens because mostly the movie doesn't actually show any moments where these characters can spend some time together because movie somehow doesn't have time for that.
There is no a perfect receipt to make a relationship with sidekick good.
The only thing I can think of is trying to get into their both points of view and thinking about it a lot.
Slowly 'sculpt the idea in your imagination, analizing it from many sides.
That's funny but in my case, my imagination start working when I'm busy with physical work.

Remember that this is not a DO/DON'T of comics, everybody is making a comics in their own way and nobody can force them (except their publisher mwahahah) to change their way of creating.
