A friendly Gnoll asked me to help thing the ratlings that have taken over the local hills. He offered to split the gold from the nearby town that gave him the quest.
I agreed thinking it would be some quick gold. After the first hour of chasing the ratlings and not able to catch up the Gnoll offered me a potion. He said it would help sharpen my hunting skills. I took the potion and chugged it down while he giggled and smiled.
I soon joined him to track down the ratlings though my body felt off. It burned with an internal heat that made my clothes itch and feel tight. I found myself pouncing and catching the troublesome creatures and putting them down. A giggle would escape my throat before I ran on all fours to join my Gnoll friend. I could feel the dirt under my claws as I caught up to him. He would reach over and ruffle my mane and offer me some water. I greedily drank it down spilling some of it over my sharp teeth and all over my furry maw.
"Come Brother...kill the rest of these vermin so we can go get the rest of our gold. Then we can buy some drinks and go home!" The Gnoll giggled which in turn made me giggle. I nodded and walked, hunched over, with him towards the last den of ratlings. My eyes turning red from the bloodlust as my mind became filled with simple thoughts of hunting and following my smarter brother.
