An experiment I did to see if I could do pixel art in Clip Studio. The verdict: yes, buttttttttttt Sai still has the superior pixel art capabilities. For some reason the way Sai ladders pixels is infinitely better than how Clip does it; Clip is touchy and it's easy to create shitty stray pixels and such. One small slip to the side causes a blob of pixelly mess that just makes me angry. BUT...... with practice and some intentional precision it works pretty ok.
Why do this and not just use SAI? Well, I don't have one right now, but I am considering getting an iPad so I can work on commissions and gamedev on the go. The iPad has a Clip Studio app that would work amazingly for me. It's great for doing your usual rendering/raster art, it would be great to access my files on the go, etc. However.... the iPad does not have a SAI app, so my usual sprite rendering software would be inaccessible and that would suck. I've managed, therefore, to cobble together pixel art capability in Clip. It does not work as well as I would like... but it works well enough, as evidenced by the above.
TLDR this was a test and it was mostly successful. But I will test some more. I'm hoping somehow I can get the brush to work the way I want it to and I will be golden, but so far, no dice. I may just need to not be picky and get over it. Ah well.

Please note that my pixel art and sprites are NOT for free use. Please do not use them in your games.
However, I am happy to do commission work for game assets, so if interested, feel free to drop a note!
