One of only two TSR.2 prototype tactical strike aircraft still in one piece. It's a shame to see such a glorious aircraft being so alone. Virtually one of a kind. Bigger shame that they can't really restore it to flying condition.

Tis one of my favourite military aircraft that didn't make it in the end.
It outperformed an English Electric Lightning with only ONE engine on wet power with reheat.
It had a very early terrain following radar.
It was designed to be able to fly from improvised airfields.
This thing could have been in-service from between the late 60's, right up to the mid 00's. Though if it was in-service, it's likely we would have seen none of the following in the RAF:
F-4K/M Phantom II (we may have still had the J's to cover for the eventual retirement of the EE Lightning, till the F-14 or Tornado F.2 was ready to come into service.
Panavia Tornado GR.1/GR.4 (we MAY have gotten the F.2/F.3 tho, unless we went for the F-14, which was very much considered for the Air Defence role)
Blackburn Buccaneer S.2
SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.3 (we may still have been motivated to produce the trainer version, in order to train pilots for the Tornado/F-14/TSR-2)
although, in an ideal world both the TSR-2, Avro Arrow, and all those above, would have all been in-service.
