The idea of the species is they were created by a race of aliens that had a food crisis but a power surplus. So I imagine that food theft would be taken very seriously.
Plus the kitty will not go to waste. My synth can turn anyone she eats into protein blocks that will be donated to the city's food banks and help feed the poor.
