Never made it before, so decided to take a swing at it. This is my variation on a basic recipe:
What You Need!
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 red onions, diced
5 cloves garlic, peeled, smashed and chopped
1/8 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 Cup water
¼ cup red wine vinegar
¼ Cup dark brown sugar
What To Do With What You Need!
1. Put the oil in a pot and BRING DE HEAT, MON! on medium-high.
2. Add in the onions, garlic, salt and oregano, and cook until the onions are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add in the water, vinegar and sugar; stir till the sugar’s dissolved and the mixture is simmering.
4. Drop the heat to low; simmer to desired consistency – about 30 minutes.
This is good for sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, etc. Or, like in the picture, spread on toast!
