My friends and I started an "art group" to help market ourselves after college. We all made characters to represent ourselves within it, and Grem is mine. Unfortunately, I am the only person in the group who actually makes art on the regular, so it fell apart fairly quickly. I loved Grem, though, so I kept it around. :) Now it's my baby.
Other than that, Grem just kind of exists. There is no backstory or origin for it, it just... it's there.
