some rough concepts for an ososan comic I haven’t gotten the chance to finish, if I ever even return to it (which I hope to but y’know…. life..)
anyways, I’m a HUGE sucker for transformations and the idea of characters having to adjust to physical/neurological differences b/t bodies. it was esp interesting to brainstorm these bodies b/c they’re essentially 2 different approaches to transformations, as will be expanded on below
(also tagged ichikara b/c they're shipped in the comic, but it's obviously not explicit here.... tho it may be obvious who I hc as the twink LMFAO)
ICHI:
so my concept for Ichi’s ‘fursona’ is something I actually hc for the show itself, not just my lil’ comic. since Ichi canonically got cat powers by fusing w/ a cat, I hc his transformation as a watered-down version of my approach to werefolk http://dragimalsdaydreams.tumblr.co.....ite-up-my-take
I figure that as a human, this being is largely Ichi w/ some subconscious influence from the cat, then as a cat (I hc he can actually go full-cat) this being is largely that cat’s consciousness w/ subconscious influence from Ichi. I don’t have any solid ideas abt who this cat is or their motivations for fusion (curiosity abt humans in the same way Ichi is interested in cats??), or what kinda ososan-flavored magic may be involved, but that’s the gist of the resulting fused Ichi, at least
in terms of anatomy, Ichi’s preferred “mid-form” is p close to a stereotypical furry, w/ largely humanoid anatomy sprinkled w/ cat features. it took quite a bit of trial and error for him to figure out the right balance of correct anatomy vs aesthetic to get a functional body plan (such as the kinda hips required for bipedalism). pictured here is the standard body plan he goes for, but it can shift depending on the situation (like shifting to more feliform hips/spine when leaping around). the hand padding in particular can shift a lot, b/c Ichi likes the stereotypical “toe beans” for the cat aesthetic, but he switches to full-palm padding when doing dexterous tasks. shown here is his standard “middle ground” padding
I know the cat Ichi fused w/ in-canon isn’t necessarily super fluffy, but I think the fluffiness fits Ichi better, so I hc that cat as originally being a big, thick fluffball, like a mainecoon. and I hc Ichi as being fat in general, so he’s just a fluffy butterball here, and I love him for it
KARA:
in my comic, Kara got into an accident at Dekapan’s (his lab is a gr8 excuse for shenanigans, shut uP), and got turned half-cat. thus, unlike Ichi, Kara is not a fusion of 2 autonomous beings (the cat influence is from ‘mere’ genetic mutation), nor does he have control over how his body is structured– the body plan is pictured above is the unchanging result of the accident
all things considered, Kara got out of this w/ a p decent body plan, but it’s still not necessarily ideal (IE– not a stereotypical furry, lmao). his hips and spine aren’t quite bipedal, so his hips tilt forward a bit, and he walks w/ an awkward, swaying gait (basically The Cat Returns http://dragimal.tumblr.com/post/161.....the-cat-parade , but slightly less awkward, and w/ more humanoid arms). his torso is also a bit too short compared to his legs for proper quad walking, so he has to sort of leap instead of walk
his ribcage is slightly more flattened along the sagittal plane rather than the coronal plane as the human torso ought to be https://s3.amazonaws.com/teachmeser.....man-Body-1.jpg , so the bottom of his ribcage flares forward a bit, giving his torso a somewhat rounded, bottom-heavy appearance. his nipples are also at the feline location, and there are 4 of ‘em adsfg
Kara’s collarbones are greatly reduced, lending to slim shoulders and a generally thin torso. he has a much smaller range of shoulder rotation due to this. his pectorals stretch down his ribcage in a slightly more triangular shape. the proportions of his arms– w/ a small upper arm vs. long lower arm– also reflect feline influence
Kara’s hands don’t have full padding, so he doesn’t have the best grip compared to normal human hands. this– in combination w/ retractable-claw finger structures– makes for some very confusing hands for poor Kara. he’s also got a lil’ declaw on his hind feet b/c I guess the accident didn’t knock out his 5th human toe
Kara is slightly smaller than his full-human form b/c cats are small, and he’s certainly smaller than Ichi’s mainecoon-esque build
