Some guns for my fraction on Project Cyden.
I taken some forgotten guns from the past and refashioned them into mass produced guns for a military branch in my space faring fraction.

The Rail Pistol is the standard carry weapon of the Militia. The sleek compact 5mm railgun has a detachable magazine of 11 darts in the grip. The magazine also has a built in powercell with enough energy for multiple reloads in the field before needing to recharge under normal firing. The pistol has a 'magnum' mode able to fire charge shots that drains twice the energy to accelerate the darts 50% faster to deal extra damage and increase effectiveness against armored targets.
Rail Submachine Guns are an upgraded version of the pistol. They fire the same light 5mm darts from the same length barrel, so has the same damage output per dart. The use of larger power cells and heavier barrel allows the SMG to sustain a high rate of fire without needing to recharge internal capacitors or worry about over heating the barrel. They primarily feed from a 60-round magazine mounted across the top. As they keep the original pistol grip and trigger the SMG can also feed from the 11-round pistol magazine as a backup. The SMG has the same standard and charge shot modes as the pistol, as well as adding burst and automatic firing modes.
Assault Railguns are the most common long arm issue from the armory. The Assault Railgun fires longer and heavier 5mm darts than the pistol and SMG. The rifle primary fire mode is a hyper-burst with such high rate of fire that the rifle sends 3 darts down range before the recoil impulse is felt by the user, maximizing hit probability as well as damage. The gun feeds from an 81-round detachable magazine with power cell. Two extra magazines are stored on the gun to either side of the main magazine for quick reloading. The full auto setting has a dialed down rate of fire calculated to provide the best ratio of firepower and controllability while holding down the trigger.
The assault railgun can be quickly reconfigured with flick of a switch to serve as a marksmen's rifle firing charged shots and standard shots with great accuracy. The built-in variable scope provides for precision placement of shots at all ranges.
They large Anti-Material Railgun is used against vehicles, buildings, and armored targets. They fire 10mm armor piercing darts from a 120-round detachable magazine. A powerful electronic scope allows them to be used in the heavy sniper role to accurately place their shots. For the best accuracy and damage it is best to fire individual charged shots from the railgun. Like the smaller Assault Railgun the Heavy Railgun has the hyper-burst mode. The super three-dart burst allows the sniper to really put the hammer to enemy armor.
The Heavy Railgun can also be used in the role of a machine gun to send bursts of fire down range to mow down or suppress the enemy. In the machine gun role the rifle is typically loaded with the longer 225-round magazines. The gun is easily connected to an external power source to allow sustained fire and faster recharge of the charge shots. In the machine gun configuration the bursts modes are three-darts, five-darts, and all the darts.
The Gauss Shotgun fires 20mm canisters and slugs. The magazine tube holds 9 ovoid or 17 spherical shells in the tube mag. The shotgun can also cycle barrel shape canisters that hold many submunitions inside. The shotgun is best used in semiautomatic mode but can be set up for automatic fire. The shotgun's canister shells multiple pellets provides superior anti-personnel damage, while the heaver shells provide plenty of room for energetic leyden, plasma, or high-explosive warheads to quickly dispatch enemy vehicles and armor.
The Stun Baton is the militia's standard less than lethal melee weapon. The jutte style weapon has four conductive plates placed around the main spike to insure that the weapons stuns no matter how it contacts. The large side prong aids in parrying enemy attacks as well as providing leverage in restraining the enemy once downed.

I just assumed you spliced it together with something else, removing this, adding that, etc.

Fun fact: The Valmet M82 played the role of the standard Resistance laser rifle used by Tech-Com in 'The Terminator'. The famous movie still that inspired the box art to the original Metal Gear has Michael Biehn (one of the finest men to grace a silver screen, along with Bruce Campbell) with a Valmet M82.

Well all the weapons are a modified from the weapons they are based around in some manner, be it to correct issues or just to bring it into line with the common styling. Some of the other inspiration was the modular nature of the early Star Trek phasers with how the pistol forms the core for the larger rifle.
In this case, the body upper and magazine of the H15 with the sleek grip and trigger of the wolverine pistol, then add a pistol brace for good measure.
All the old guns I used in this picture are the VBR CAR, a prototype assault rifle inspired by the G11; the HK G11 rifle itself; the very sleek Whitney Wolverine pistol; the Hill H15, grandfather to the P90; and of course the submarine like High Standard Model 10, I like the idea of the flashlight in the carry handle much more than having the optics double as your grip.
The Valmet is a pretty gun, and I do have a love for the looks of bullpup weapons. It hasn't featured in any of my art yet. Haven't watched any of the Terminator movies newer than the one with female Terminator. The 3rd or 4th movie. Been turned off by how sanitized modern movies are for the most part.
