Yosuke had already been nervous when he also came down with the strange "Neko" status effect from that strange shadow. He had taken over for his partner as leader of the Investigation Team to find a cure for the condition, after Yu entering the TV world drastically sped up the catifying effects. But after days of hunting the strange Cat shadow that did it, all he walked away with was getting cursed himself before the slippery creature ran away again!

Now stuck on the sidelines while everyone else hunts for the strange shadow, his basic job has basically been to babysit his partner.

The Neko Effect does a number on both the persons mind as well as body, and Yosuke had quickly found out. Strange urges continue to pop into his head more and more frequently the longer he is like this. he's developed an appetite for fish, the bird flying overhead always get his attention. plus there was that one time that damn bear messed with him with a laser pointer (So embarrassing).

Yu got even worse off then him, from both having it longer, and the brief TV excursion where they all found out it made it worse. he was probably more Cat than man, at this point, Yosuke thought, and he seemed to partake in all the strange indulgences the Status effect would invoke. (Or, maybe thats just his partners own weird impulse control. he was prone to doing weird things even before this curse)

Now, on one of the days he was to hanging out with his partner, Yosuke had walked in on his partner casually cleaning himself like a cat, and acting like it was normal. Yosuke blew a fuse, and tried to get Yu to stop, and not make it worse. Yu, acting way to calm for Yosuke's poor nerves, seemed to aqueous, before sneaking a lick on Yosuke's cheek. Yosuke froze, as Yu took another lick, his partners sand paper like tongue feeling... odd on his face. Yosuke refused to do anything, wanting to retreat inward to avoid the situation entirely, but his body did react. his face grew red, and from his throat he and Yu could both hear the sound of purring begin to form, which was the only signal Yu needed to keep going.

Neither boy had admitted their feelings for one another yet. Yosuke was still trying to ignore that he even had those feelings. But situations like this made ignoring them harder and harder. Yosuke would most likely blame the Neko Effect as the reason this little event even happened, to which Yu would passively accept, keeping this little dance of there's going, but for right now, Yosuke bitterly ignored the fact he was in love the the man who was no longer a man, turning into an animal, and slowly dragging him with him. he ignored his feelings. ignored his thoughts. ignored his fears. he ignored everything except the sensations of his partner next to him, purring all the while.
