Do people still play this? Not a smart comment; genuine question as I never really see anybody talk about paintball anymore and they don't sell much of it in stores anymore.

uh ... well ... yes? ... there are still places to play paintball? even sports leagues of the same? ... I found this marker in a wallmart of new jersey ... and still have enough supplies ... protection, ammunition, accessories etc ...

Where did you hear that paintball was going to disappear ???

Well I mean, where I live (Kentucky) I hear nobody talk about paintball or go out to play it, almost none of the sporting goods stores sell stuff for it anymore either. And then what pro-paintball stuff that was out there in my state seemed to just sort of disappear years ago.l

Honestly, airsoft seems to have superseded it in my state; I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the decline around here that I am observing.

Again, wasn't trying to make a smart-alec comment :O Was just genuinely curious if it was still around since I practically never see it anymore.

no problem ... in any case ... yes ... there are people beyond the borders playing paintball ... in my case ... I have not had the pleasure of playing in any paintball field even in new jersey ... but I know that they exist through family contacts ... I have played as in 3 different fields a my native country ... costa rica

I've heard some of that ... but I'm not sure if it's the truth ... but there's a lot of speculation that where sports are practiced ... airsoft or paintball ... there are regions where the same predominates because of strong demand ... and maybe in the case of Kentucky ... there are many airsoft locations that it seems impossible to set up a paintball business ... a lot of competition in which probably the local people are used to choosing the airsoft by default

From my understanding airsoft is waaaay cheaper too. And with everybody being as poor as they are in Kentucky I suppose it makes sense that they would prefer airsoft :\
