That's what you get for handing over the inscription documents to your parents without looking at them.
(seriously though, if you're a teen reading this: do read the documents, and hand them over. Don't keep them for weeks in your bag and hand them to your parents a day before they're due saying you just got them. It brings unneeded difficulty in the life of your teachers, and they'll be much happier and therefore better teachers if you're also making the effort.)

My school used to do it a little better. We'd get the notes and the messages to bring home, but if they didn't hear anything back until roughly 2, 1.5 weeks before the deadline, they'd contact the parents directly to ask...
