Micronta (RadioShack) Quartz Chrono Alarm, Cat. No. 63-5006
I found this watch used for only $1.50 in early 2016 at a local antiques shop, and it was my primary wristwatch up until August 2018, replaced by my Casio CA-53W-1 calculator watch. However, this is not to say that I no longer wear the Micronta watch; in fact, I have reserved it for special occasions like weddings, baptisms, holidays, and even business-related events like interviews and conventions.
In 1981 (the year it was introduced), it cost US$39.95 which, adjusted for inflation, translates to around $110.63 in 2019. It runs on a single 1.5-volt, LR1130 coin cell, has an incandescent edge light, chronograph, 12/24 hour modes, and a micro speaker driven alarm, making it louder than piezo transducer speakers. The watch was designed as a cheaper alternative to the Seiko digital watches of the era.
The display stand that I used, originally shipped with my Casio CA-53W-1.
