First of two huge full illustration commissions for LaminarFox , of him and OldManCassius in a library, studying some magical things! This was probably the most complex interior setting I've ever painted thus far, a huge learning experience with many many MANY hours spent sketching, painting, and repainting while I figured out how to get everything to work!
I did use SketchUp to roughly put together the room, and must say that is an invaluable tool that every artist should learn, because it helped immensely and I can only imagine how many more hours I would have spent without it.

Fantastic colours and design. I find it remarkable that the picture looks so good both at large and as a thumbnail. Even when it is small you can still see so much detail and the areas of colour such as the orange candles and blue light from the staff stand out clearly. It holds true for the other images in your gallery too, both small and large they look excellent and are rich treasures of colour and atmosphere.
