Humanity's downfall - Short story included
So I finally got around to doing my little experiment. This was, to the best of my ability a "sketch painting" with the objective of trying to color an interesting picture in the shortest amount of time. Is it a good thing to do? Probably not, but hey, it was fun and I learned something from this so that's good enough in my book! If I ever offered a sketch painting I guess this is what it would look like xD
Oh, I also made a very short story. Excuse the quality, this was made in probably a 30 minute time span, but I wanted to at least put a story in there, this picture deserves it in my mind :)
Till next time guys! <3
Non-colored version in scraps!
It was just another sunny day, through the bustling city. With the sun peaking high against the blue haze, the sky itself dull of clouds, down below wind calmly brushing through the city streets, it's citizens going through their daily lives, everything far from out of the ordinary. Cars traveled from street to street, men and women walked the sidewalks, buildings high above lively with business deals, entertainment, food a plenty, scandals, and opportunity. Through the outskirts of the city itself, although not nearly as alive, would show it's own source of importance. From the imports of goods traveled from far away lands, to the tourists of near and remote. Shipping boats would load their goods from a nearby river, the workers feeling the mundane that the day brought, and each couldn't wait to be free from their boss's clutches. But this day for those workers and the city itself in fact would be far from mundane, for a creature of massive proportions made its way towards the city proper
A man, one of no importance, cladded with a orange jumpsuit, just nearly finishing his stocking report, a face quite tired would glance towards the horizon, using the sun's position as a way to tell how far it would be until break time. But out of all the days that he would do this, never before did he spy such a sight. Leaning in, eyes squinting, towards the far reaches of the green fields and forests, the man would spot something... a wolf? Rubbing his eyes, he would look again, clearly this was an impossibility, he really should have not attended that party yesterday, the event was clearly playing tricks in his head
But no, for as he would continue his glaring posture, he would soon feel the ground shake, trembling in a rhythmic motion coinciding with the far off “impossibility.” He would find his head tilting up skyward as the world itself started to feel as it would crumble. Higher and higher his gaze rose, to a point where he would, in no doubt, see what would be the looks of a gargantuan wolf! His eyes would go wide, left leg faltering behind him. No way this could be real, NO WAY!
The wolf, it's body, rising high towards the sky, would tilt it's head, spotting the city in the distance, never before seeing such an object before. This of course would spark it's curiosity, something although quite harmless in it's respect, would be deadly for those that traveled far below, unaware of the doom that was heading towards them.
The man, by now would turn and run, accompanied by his co-workers, advisors, managers, each running for their very lives, the wolf leisurely catching up, not far off from the shipping yard. Finally, the first step upon the city's land the wolf would take, massive legs sweeping, wading through the water, each appendage generating absurdly large waves, one which would collide with a sizable ship, it just finished offloading it's supplies. It had no chance, as the wolf walked through the boat, its body ramming directly through the steal frame, it buckling, contorting to the will of the nonchalant wolf. The ship would eventually be ripped in half, the wolf taking its step upon the cement, massive pawed toes splaying, dispersing the immense weight of the canine. Step after step it took, the world cracking under its form, its body high above anything nearby.
Whatever this place was the wolf enjoyed it greatly. Its tail swayed to and fro, spotting the smallest of creatures running away from it's impressive form. But this wolf, cared little about the insects, it's massive paws crashing, demolishing and eviscerating, men, women, buildings, cars and more. And when those legs would lift, some would find themselves on a short trip with the wolf, may it be under the pads, clearly departed already, or some even unlucky enough to be within the middle of the toes, unable to get out. As the wolf would eventually lift that leg once more, it swinging forth towards it's next target, the unwanted bugs would easily be knocked out by the forces before their untimely demise would come in the form of a simple step.
By the time the wolf had left the shipping hard, the entire area had been littered with paw prints. Buildings of all sizes had been either knocked over, or crushed flat, shipping containers following this trend, some left to be in the shape of the wolf's paw print, a message for all that would eventually pass through this area.
It wouldn't take long for the wolf to make it to the city proper, those massive legs sweeping powerfully, taking the canine hundreds of feet with each step taken, for it's paws to eventually come crashing down against trees, the world splitting in half from the weight. The city itself would go silent as the creature made its way towards the metropolis. But with one scream, the entire area would go into a frenzy. Cars, trucks, men, women, children and even pets such as dogs and cats, too fearful from the superior predator would all run and drive in different directions, trying their best to leave the sight of the god on four legs. But this would prove to be fruitless, the wolf eventually bashing through the largest of buildings, each of them proving worthless in stopping the canine's advance. Buildings of 50 stories and more would fall, the mass of cement, steal and more crashing against the world below. And while the citizens of course would feel the power the buildings held, the wolf found little interest in such petty things.
With its eyes high above the city, it would find of something quite interesting indeed. A stadium to us, it in plane view, larger than any other building nearby would look like a mere bowl for the wolf. It, in a fit of curiosity would make its way towards the epicenter, wondering what such a weird looking object could be used for
Meanwhile, in the stadium, a game of epic properties was currently taking place. The end of the 9ths, all bases loaded, the championship to be taken by one of the two most adored teams on the eastern coast. But even the most intense of games would be broken by the entire foundation practically crumbling as the massive wolf's head eventually found itself over the opening. With a head tilt the wolf 's front paws would lift off the ground, cars, signs, people and more, falling from the massive pads, crashing down towards the world below, causing even more chaos than there was already. The massive paw would press deeply into the stadium's body, it all but keeping its form as it crumbled under the canine's weight, contorting around the pads, the highest of observers finding refuse crashing down around them thanks to the displacement. Leaning in the massive wolf would catch a glimpse of all the tasty snacks that lived within this bowl shaped item. It's face would contort into a smile, its ears raised high towards the sky as it lowered its head. A massive tongue, pink in color, would leave the maw of the creature, sent forth towards the “bowl.” No one could escape the tongue, unlucky individuals finding themselves practically glued to the muscle, soaked to the brim before being sent into the maw of the wolf, to quickly be sent down its gullet, to be used as future energy for its romping. The tongue would shoot out over and over, taking in hundreds with each lick.
Of course everyone would attempt to leave, but the entrances would prove to be too narrow, the flow coming to an upmost halt as the massive muscle encroached towards the mass, it eventually slamming powerfully against the side of the stadium. The largest of groups would betaken into the gullet alongside bits of cement, metal and the stadium's sitting arrangements. It was a practical war zone inside the bowl and the humans were the casualties. Eventually however, the flow of human food would slow and this would allow the few remaining individuals to hide within the now tongue ridden and soaked stadium. The wolf, seeing that the bowl was effectively empty of morsels would lift skyward once more, front paw pressing off from the stadium, raising to its full height once more.
With the stadium being the only thing of interest for the wolf, it would eventually continue its journey, the paws crashing down against the world once more, buildings falling prey to its immense stature. Eventually however, the destruction, although significant, would end, the massive beast making a practical B-line through the city, eventually leaving view towards the mountains, it's massive frame still towering all that stood in its way. And as it left, those still living would come to the realization that they were no longer the alpha-species anymore, if a wolf of this size was a possibility, what would stop other animals from meeting the same fate...
A grim premise indeed

Wow, this looks really, really good! You do fantastic squick-sketch paintings, apperantly! Still need to see the big boy lodged in a tunnel or something chasing a giant tennis ball, clearly, but this is amazing...and the story you added really fun...grim, but fun! Really lovely work.
So many skills being shown off here wow. Love the fish eye perspective in the bottom right.
That city looks really believable and dense. It's vague, yet detailed.
The fire/smoke effects are good too. They are fun to draw right? :)
But that wolf's goofy expression tho haha <3
