So due to how now much happens this time, the chapter is short. But I still like how it came out.

Love on Island
Another Slow Month
It then became March and it was going to be a little slow this month even though the school year only had a couple more to go before it let out for the summer. However, there wouldn’t be anything that would happen between Jack and Alexis as after that kiss, he found it a little awkward to be around her. The little sea otter noticed the little folfsky was spending less time with her than usual. The female got worried enough she had to ask his father. “Nah, he’s just going through a phase,” the long-haired fosky told Alexis. “Just give him a little bit of time and he’ll go back to normal, okay?”
Alexis felt better after hearing that. There was also another fun event at the school that could help her be distracted. It was for St. Patrick’s day. Due to many on the island being from States, along with some from Ireland, it was observed. This was especially for James and Michelle Howl. The two border collies, like most on the island who were married and had kids, were particularly helpful with setting up the celebration. And since the male canine was married to Michelle, her sister Kristen and her husband Mason the Great Dane, also helped. Their kids brought the families closer as they were cousins to James and Michelle’s kids, as well as being nieces and nephews to the two border collies like their kids were to Kristen and Mason. This holiday also was a bit more important for James and Michelle’s kids who were ¼ Irish while their father was ½. He had taught them well of their heritage and dancing to.
For all the people that Nicholas and Rio were friends with, who were still in great contact with, couldn’t at times believe how fast the school year had gone by already. All these people from what could be considered a generation didn’t regret to settling down with the one they loved. Now the part of watching their kids grow up was now a thing in their lives that they enjoyed watching. And that was how it found Nicholas watching his son and eldest daughter head to their class groups after dropping them off at the Main Hall again for this. He often asked his wife Rio if she ever wanted to do this, but the female folf smiled and said it was okay. Maybe latter but for now, it was his job to do.
Meanwhile Jack made it and found Daniel and Drake to talk to. He spotted Alexis coming in with her father and then the arrival of James and Michelle with their eldest daughter to help the teachers with this. Last year they had done so for the adults so it was a nice switch up as the Irish twins Lucky and Star would take care of that. “Glad you two are here,” said the teacher of Jack and Alexis’s class with a smile.
“I’m glad daddy’s here!” said James and Michelle’s daughter. Her brother was in one the kindergarten classes like Lilly.
“Aye, me wee little Emily,” her father said in an Irish accent, picking her up and rubbing their noses playfully. She and her mother giggled. Michelle gave him a kiss on the cheek.
The party then started and ended well. The kids had all built traps to try to catch a leprechaun. But of course, nothing was there. Still it was great fun as the traps ranged from big to small, cleaver, and simple but effective.
“I thought for sure mine would do it!” Jack stated with a grin, rubbing his head with his left paw.
“Mine didn’t work either,” Alexis said who was standing in front of him with her head turned to her trap.
“Well we’ll get one next time.”
“Yeah…” The two then realized this was the closest they had been to the other physically since February and found it to be a bit awkward.
“ Jack, sorry… I…” said the sea otter but he smiled.
“It’s okay Alexis,” he said to her. “I told you… you’re one of my best friends. That won’t change…” The female then smiled and it was like the kiss had never happened. The two were back to what they had been before. And that would show during the remaining months of school and beyond.

I like that I was able to work in some other favs in this when it comes to the girls of HTH.
