I understand that! I just....look for me my first experience of wrestling was the gritty insane tiger mask anime of the seventies, aired in Italy in the eighties, where everything was played bloody straight with one episode seeing tigermask being crucified on a metal wire ring at 20 ft tall height by spider themed evil wrestler. So my perception of it had been forever warped(that and replying the various match on hard concrete and marble ground with my friend. Nothign like beign supplexed into gravel make some childhood friendship bond
Muko vs the Biker was a street fight, that's excluded from anything happening in the ring. And as for Pro Wrestling, those are highly trained athletes on top of being performers. They know how to land hits and take hits so that they don't hurt as bad. That also know where to hit people so that they don't cause any real injuries. don't get me wrong, crap happens and people DO get hurt, but again they're highly trained and work extremely hard to be able to do what they do. Calling it scripted is no more disrespectful than going to see a play and expecting that to be scripted too. Then again I never see people buy tickets to broadway and then shout at the stage "Those guys aren't really mormons!!", lol.
Ok then...i think at i have completely misunderstood this comic. As i completely totally absolutely got this comic for something it is not. This could have lead me to misjudge some character and some events. For this, Dai, i am very sorry.
Your art is top notch and too good to pass upon, the story, eh, i like some character alot and soemthing of this setting seem interesting, but overall is not for me, but i'll still check once a while.

I am perfectly aware of all you said. But I always thought that , with few rare excpetions, certain things do not translate well into comic format. With Wrestling is like wasthcing a stage playe, you suspend disbelieve for the show and go along. But within comic...well much like many sport(spocon) comics or theatre within theatre things get less....ok...but as is aid there exception. Rocky Joe is my favored anime. But in most cases seem to me a waste limiting oneself to "normal". But is not a big problem
It just means I will still have to wait for the furry version of Grappler Baki/Tiger Mask.
In meanwhile i will enjoy the luxurious artwork of Daigajiin, while trying to ignore Muko - a character i just mildly warmed up so far after 200 pages...

When reading a story about a person trying to become a performer it becomes less about the person being able to do the job and more about the journey that the person takes to get there. Even in this comic you have characters with interesting, odd, and sometimes annoying quirks and they either have to work around, embrace, or overcome these quirks to become better at what they're doing. It's a "rise of the hero" style of story. A general person wants to become something, they find a mentor, there's a struggle, they lose, they learn from that loss, they become better. Right now we're in the mentor phase of the story as well as still including new characters. Being a huge organization there should be more than a handful of ladies involved in it, so while there's likely a dozen other characters left in the wings to be discovered later we still get to meet the few that are exposed to us. When the story enters the struggle phase is when it gets really interesting because that's where all of the build up and drama is located. I'm excited to see how things play out.
This I understand perfectly, and i appreciate. Is just that with this comic is a rollercoast for me. One moment i really like it, and then...Muko...a character that I like more in her sci-fi AU version than in this. But this could be also ebcause sci-fi is more in my cords. But as said I will still check this comic once a while, Heck I love interacting with people who like this comic.. So who know perhaps some of your passion will rub on me too.
I really enjoy reading about character growth. that's why I got so frustrated when reading Muko and she was actively resisting any growth at all that would have advance her as a character. Now that the ball is rolling and she's starting to get matches I'm hoping that things will improve and she'll be able to grow more rapidly. Because, again we're in the mentor phase and that exists for the sake of the protagonist to start growing while the world around them is developed by the author... artist... what do we call people that write comic books?
