Composed nicely. This fellow seems to almost have a deit-al look about him. (If not, the piece gives off a very spiritual/introversion feel -- which is suitable, given the prompt.)
Your work is gorgeous. You always have a great handle on colors, this piece is no exception. The mood and atmosphere you're able to capture in your art is phenomenal.
I like how most of the detail is concentrated on the detached face. Very clever play on concept. The detail (and larger concentration of blacks) is so striking your attention is automatically directed there leaving the rest of the body (person) behind it second.
I also like the flow and spread of the bottom. Also suitably appropriate to the theme.

tl;dr: this is pretty awesome.
(though I'm curious, what species is the feline if there's one specific that you were referencing? The markings seem ocelot-ish, but the facial features and general cat is reading to me more like jaguar or leopard.)
