With a final shutter of his wings, the light of her firefly friend disappeared into her fur, but she could still hear his heartbeat.. He still lived.. But for how long, she feared. With her eyes closed, the snow blanketed her... and the last words to echo in her mind rang in her ears almost as if she had said it aloud...

"We will meet again, my dear sister... If not in this world, then the next. Farewell... My dearest.. Clio."

Her heart stopped beating and at almost the same moment an awful ripping sound echoed throughout the mountain tops... Her forehead split wide open, spilling blood - so crimson hot it caused the snow to steam around her face...
