There wasn't such a character in the original Robotech/Macross, only in my version .
In fact, Arok is not a military officer, but a scientist. He managed the dragon's last base which was hidden in a closed ultraspace - all survival dragons during the war were settled there.
After the space-time battle ship Galaxy arrived the base, Arok and his copemates built new reactors and propulsion devices for Galaxy, then Galaxy can go to the negtive ultraspace to attack human invader's mobile base.

Is "ultraspace" anything like the real-life quantum physics theory of subspace? Where there are different quantum frequencies and you could, theoretically, shift something onto one of those other frequencies in order to make several things occupy the same space?
